####################################
THAT ELUSIVE QUESTION

In your professional opinion a horse that backs up twice in a
short period of time is it 100% fit or less :?:
####################################

One again I will re-iterate my view

" as a punter I dont know if a horse can back up."
" however the trainer does."

That puts guess work into evaluating the definitive chance of that horse.

I realise some can some cant BUT how as a punter can I figure that out with confidence. :?:

Same applies with the dogs.

a trainer would/could & should know his/her horse you are right, now the trainer has an obligation to have the horse FIT FOR RACING occaisionally they are below peak fitness when first up from a spell but no trainer is to take their horse to the track injured or sore & you can notice most injuries/soreness when they're warming up on the track (hence occaisional vet inspections) also with virus' most times they can not tell until after the race when a horse is distressed & blowing a lot more than usual & then comes more blood tests etc etc

as a punter you say how can you figure it out, you learn who can handle it & who cant it is the same with distances, drivers, trainers the whole box'n'dice

what trainer would ruin his/her horse to race an extra race this week when they can wait one week & race then ? mal you either trust horseman to be doing the right thing with a horse or dont bet on them & you win most of the time so you wont be stopping the punt will you ?

BAYMAN QUOTE

 MOST HORSES WILL RECOVER NO PROBLEMS

We are finally getting warmer NOW ANSWER the question

################################################
IN YOUR PROFESSIONAL OPINION A HORSE THAT BACKS UP TWICE IN
A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME IS IT 100% FIT OR LESS
################################################

You say MOST HORSES will recover
Im asking will they be 100% fit

I do not not beleive that a horse racing every 24-36-48 hours can be 100% fit
In my opinion the horses would be between 1 -100% fit
MOST HORSES would be approximately 75% fit [but can still win]
SOME HORSES would be 100% but very very few.

NOW ANSWER THE QUESTION FOR THE MILLIONTH TIME

MOST YES IF THERE IS ANY PROBLEM THE TRAINER WOULD SCRATCH THEM LIKE TODAY

R2 NO 10
R6 NO 5 (ALTHOUGH IT WAS A LATE SCRATCHING & AS YET I DONT KNOW WHY)

IN R2 I'D SAY THE TRAINER MICHAEL TIDSWELL HAD A LOOK AT HOW THE HORSE PULLED UP AFTER FRIDAY HOW THE HORSE ATE & LOOKED TO SEE OVERALL IF HE COULD RACE TODAY HE OBVIOUSLY HAD SOME DOUBT & SCRATCHED IT AS SHOULD & DOES HAPPEN BY AT LEAST THE MAJORITY OF TRAINERS

BOTTOM LINE TRUST THE TRAINERS TO KNOW & DO THE RIGHT THING (AS HAPPENS) OR DO NOT BET ON THEM

We can agree to disagree and leave the jury to sought it out.

Just for the record although this evidence is inadmissable.
SEVERAL TIMES AT THE DOGS THE DOGS THAT BACK UP ARE WAY WAY WAY
BELOW 100% FITNESS BECAUSE THEY ARE INJURED
how do I know :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?:
THE TRAINERS HAVE TOLD ME.
Some trainers run dogs unfit so they wont get a 14 day suspension on the dog
Some trainers run dogs unfit for a downgrade.

Luckily enough the TROTS trainers cant get a downgrade for horses.[thank god OR...]

Dogs and Trots are completly different - and you're talking about dogs having 2-3 starts a week every week for 6 months...

As for the Trots - look at a horse called Amazing Albert - 9 starts in January and the last of them was a 2nd in a M0 at Moonee Valley - so it can be done and the horses have to be 100% fit - if they are not the vets would pick it up during their warm up and scratch them before they run - so really I think they are 100% fit - but maybe a little flat from trying to back up day in day out, they are just like Humans and get tired also.
