I disagree actually, they are off the boil at the moment- I'd rather (& have) take WCE 1-39, plus Richmond line/even money line

Not such a silly bet- I've backed Freo 40+ (earlier in the week)

Just had another unit on the Dee's 1-39 @ $2.95; they've been backed in for the Win (into $2.08), yet their 1-39 margin is still $2.95.
Other teams at $2.30 the win are $2.75 (1-39), so this has to be overs/a misteak

NA (1-39)
St (1-39)
CD (1-39)
1 unit @ $16 something... I know, not that brave really...

My format this round has been to not put all my eggs in 1 basket (CD last round... :( )

you have mentioned previously how good the UNprofessionals are at INcompletesportsbetting and that they always have the winners under the odds of the competitors......

well amazingly the GURUS at THornton were betting $1.70 sturt and -12.5 while the UNprofessionals were betting $1.73 and -8.5pts

that was on friday night

between THORNTON + SEAL
For example NW $1-70 with THORNTON, $1-62 with SEAL this round

Brown mover in Medal market
20 August 2007 Herald Sun
Jon Anderson

BRISBANE Lion Jonathan Brown is all the rage for the Brownlow Medal after another stunning display.

Brown's best-on-ground display has seen him firm into fourth favourite at $9 for the award.

And he is now as short as $1.45 for the Coleman Medal, with Matthew Pavlich rated his only danger.

"When Brown plays well he plays really well and we have him down for six clear best-on-ground displays," said Gerard Daffy of Lasseters Sports.

"But, having said that, I firmly believe one of the Geelong players in Gary Ablett or Jimmy Bartel will win the Brownlow because Geelong are going to poll just about all 45 votes on offer in their past 15 wins.

"If the AFL felt kindly towards we bookies they could send a package containing the Brownlow and the premiership cup down the highway to Geelong now and we could all go fishing.

"Like Essendon in 2000 and Carlton in 1995 they are clearly the standout team and I can't see them being beaten."

Apart from Jonathan Brown, the other big firmer for the Brownlow is Bartel after another classic display and it's worth remembering that he polled 13 votes in 2004.

The Sydney-Brisbane game was a good example of the highs and lows for footy punters.

Take the Centrebet punter who at three-quarter time had $18,000 on Sydney to win at $1.16 when it was 17 points up.

He was home and hosed until Brown sent that 65m drop punt through the big sticks, something that would have made him deeply unhappy, but made the Lasseters Sports' client who had $6500 on Brisbane at +4 1/2 points at $1.92 very happy.

Another punter who won't be happy is the TAB Sportsbet customer who placed $3500 on a Hawthorn-Geelong Grand Final at $10, and $2000 at $29 on a Hawthorn-Sydney Grand Final.

The bet was placed before Hawthorn lost to Port Adelaide with the last kick of the game.

That kick by Port's Brett Ebert was worth an estimated $150,000 to TAB Sportsbet given the Hawks were heavily backed, particularly in multi-bets.

Football punting isn't restricted to Australia. A Norwegian punter had a bet on the first team to score in the last quarter in the Cats-Roos clash, and whether that score would be a goal or behind. He outlaid 8000 NOC ($1800) at $3.35 on Geelong to score a goal. Big Cat Cam Mooney obliged.

A punter had $40,000 on Geelong to win the flag at $2.45 on Friday. That price has now trimmed to $2.20 although the Cats remain a good result for TAB Sportsbet.

One of their bigger clients had $60,000 on St Kilda to win at $1.74 and $42,000 on Essendon at $1.55.

Melbourne was a huge go, being backed from around $2.70 into $2.15 and punters were unlucky, given the Demons' wretched night with injuries left their interchange bench bare.
