I think a rule should be brought in next year that bets on odds greater than $10 (say) aren't allowed, otherwise someone can get lucky and win the comp based solely on one bet, rather than from using any skill.

PS I'm not having a go at you, Pseudo - I would do the same if I was in your situation.

agree with the no Draws....I think to be a geniune punting comp we want some skill involved, Im involved in another punting comp with $5k in prizes and there are no draws allowed.

Bets allowed are Line's ($1.90 - $2.00), Win (Moneyline) and Margins (1-39, 40+) thats it, if you find one of them paying $100- Ill allow it (there is one this week  )

Next year Im going to bring in some new features and rules to enhance the comp...

But what if someone gets lucky and flukes a draw in the first round? Then the competition is basically over and is of no interest to anyone after that. :(

if keeping with the 3 units for the punting comp, then you could do it like Last Man Standing, in that if you fail to collect you are out!

FWIW I agree, but I don't run the comp and am happy to abide smoothly by any rules set by the higher powers, unlike troublemakers like Pseudo Nymous

If you are convinced a match is going to be decided by a couple of goals, there are basically 25 possible outcomes (12 points either way plus the draw). The draw pays 50 to 1. You do the maths.

Though I confess my attempt at picking the draw was solely to propel myself to the lead of this esteemed competition :D

easy punt the "either team wins under 15.5 points" that way you get 31 possible outcomes...more likely to make profit from this than trying to pin the tail on the draw IMO
