Gee whiz, great day mate. About the only one I know who had any success today. Was certainly a day to look for double-figure winners.

Not only have they let all punters down today with the site crashing, phone lines down and when trying to deposit money it goes missing now the bets I laid before today that have won are showing in my account as resulted and paying $0, for example I have MR race 6 #5 $20 place country best odds, it ran 2nd. My account shows it as resulted paying $0.00!!!!

Well Master O'Reilly is a bum sniffer! would have been a great result if it had got 3rd but ended up breaking even with Alcopop missing a place, LAYed it pretty heavily and was a bit nervous 300m out when it loomed up.

We had a crack at the AR quaddie today and got the last 3 legs, missed the first leg @ $5.00 and it jackpoted for $26k

Question - have the flemington rails bookies had a better melb cup day?? think money missing a place in the 2800m race, williams playing jockeys on ortensia  , definitely ready and broken not winning in the next and drifters winning just about all the other races.

If you asked any of them what sort of day they had it would be - The Melbourne cup was our worst result in years because we layed $25 e/w on shocking

Dont worry about leaving it too late- Duric killed him by getting so far back. Never ever gonna win from there.

My money was shot half way around.

Worst ride since Shane Dye's butcher job on Tie the Knot a few years back.

not much wrong with teh ride on mater o'reilly - it was comfortably the 2nd best run of the race behind the winner. 4 out of the first 5 past thepost ran on exactly the same piece of ground in the straight - down the middle was a clear fast lane on the day, master o'reilly was the only horse to make ground either down the outside or inside in the race. master o'reilly was always going to be right back that is his style of racing but the slow pace upfront worked against him - dont forget in teh straight he ran past daffodil, viewed, alcopop and roman emporer - if you had said to me before the race he would pass tehm down the straight i would presume he had won

I would think MR would be better suited over more ground than 3200m, in the last 2 cups 3200 has been too short for it  if I owned it Id seriously think about sending it to the UK where they run more staying races and some up to 4800m!!!

R6 - 1
R8 - 8

For some reason, while reading this thread yesterday, i just wrote down these tips on races 2,3,4 and 6, among all the other things I wrote down. I actually backed it 10 each way, in among 4 other individual race bets on the day, so thanks for the 10.50 result. =D> .
For the Cup, was very very chipper about spending 100 to box 8 horses into 13 into 13, after putting together an amalagm of a few peoples' tips here I've watched closely over the last year and to get 9.6 pct of the trifecta.

On the flip side as a rookie story against myself for the Cup, I had decided to use the same numbers to have a go at the first four but I only had 50 bucks to put on that and needed around 160-odd to make the minimum 1pct rule. 100 on a trifecta and 160 on a first four in the same month was way out of my league in the betting stakes, so therefore didn't box the 8/13/13/13 into the first four, and hence missed the chance of turning what would have been a 1pct stake (160 bucks) into 880, as 1 pct of the 88k collect.

Not quite that courageous (or rich) yet as a gambler to have a crack at a bet that large.
