Jockey 1st 2nd 3rd Points
B Rawiller 1 2 0 7.00 - only got 1 ride left which is the toppy in race 7 - has a rough ew chance
C Newitt 1 0 1 4.00 - 2 rides - will win race 7 unfortunately, but may miss in the last. he was my 4th pick
Other Unlisted Jockey - CHRIS SYMONS 0 1 2 4.00 - 1 ride in the last, needs to win to get a tie
J Mott 1 0 0 3.00
L Nolen 1 0 0 3.00

been around the mark but ive tried something different again and ive come up with this

MELBOURNE

top 2 picks and these 2 look to have it between them - NOLEN and MELHAM, the only other 2 chances are Maskiell and Newitt but they should be at big odds

Have backed rawiller and Clark at randwick on betfair and hoping to lay off after a couple of races...

Similarly with noonan and Nolen at caulfield

Trying to find jockeys with early rides that can win and hope their odds crunch after and early winner or two...

how does betfair work mr willy?

When do they cut off betting?

if I want to lay someone at $3 and they win the first race does my $3 still stay up after that race for someone to match?

Can you do a comparison of odds. Say TAB Sportsbet and Betfair to show comparative rates throughout the early stages of the day?

thanks in advance

I dont know but Id say the BF market would remain open all day while in play like they do with all sports. Getting liquidity might be the issue though

Correct Dutchy... Liquidity a big issue, especially after race one. Normally a fair bit there before the first race...

You can compare yourself, don't think anywhere does it for you!!

So you can bet on the JC when they are halfway down the home straight in race 1 to see what prices are still availble. They do not close betting? So you really have to be there to get your bet matched or else someone will tkae your price soon after race 1 if it is overs.

I guess that is the key with betfair you have to be there to trade.

When do they clsoe betting for the day? or do they go right up until the last race?

What do you mean 'getting luquidity'?

I had a look and currently all the jockeys are $1.01 with $48 available on each??????????????? WTF?

Answered your own question there, no one trading the market = no liquidity

my experience studying and punting on JC BF is limited but get your bets on early. After race 2 it seems to die

Have you used betfair before ol??

You set it up so it cancels the bet at in play so once they jump for race 1... Not much is still there once they jump for race 1

I have used betfair,...but never for a JC. Interesting that you can cancell your price at the start of a race is that correct?
It would be good if there was more interest in it and there was more money being traded.

MELB after 5 races MT79....

Chris Symons 1 1 2 7.00
B Melham 1 1 0 5.00
C Newitt 1 0 1 4.00
J Maskiell 0 2 0 4.00
L Nolen 1 0 1 4.00
D Gauci 1 0 0 3.00

It's the same as any betfair market... You can either cancel your bet once it goes in play or keep it and allow it to be matched in play...

J Piper @ $18
D Browne @ $21

R Bensley @ $20

I thought they were all overs on the grub system
