Are we doing the comp on Melb Cup Day???? Isnt there only 1 group 1 race tho????

Dunno, I assume with such a sizable lead and only a prize for first everyone will go the roughies now and it'd only take one or two especially in a race like the Melbourne Cup to make a decent inroads. And with everyone going for the roughies it's just a matter of time before someone snags one.
I was happy with a modest profit today.
Gorky Park coming 2nd was my ideal result.
Wish I'd put real cash on my selections this year though.
That's the trick, if I had I'd be well in the red.

Its been fun though, thanks again to the Sheik, I come home every Saturday and check my results, otherwise I wouldn't have had much if any interest in the Spring Carnival this year.

RACE 9-1 MALcolm place.

In case you all thought WEDGIE was the winner it would pay to check

Excellent work Mal, a return of about $150 by my equations, still leaves you a bit short of me, but plenty of races to do the catching up especially if you pick like today!

Mals gone the shelalie & coming home at the rate of knots, 3 results, $147, & again takes out the round, well done Mal great effort for the big day. Wedgie holds on to a $86 lead with a couple of selections this round, & more importantly Punky's off the bottom putting Perce under gigantic pressure.

Frosty was 1/2 neck off leading the comp with Irazu, & The Mad One got 2nd with Gorky Park @ 25's but also changed his winning Friday Creek selection.

.............Wins Total Win $$$ Total $$$ Balance
Wedgie 2 21 $52 $660 $180
Mal 3 18 $147 $574 $94
Another Grub 1 7 $35 $563 $83
Frosty 0 7 $64 $353 -$25
Sheik Yerbouti 0 11 $42 $422 -$58

Mad Dog Mike 0 12 $0 $300 -$180
Scoob 0 9 $0 $264 -$216
Punk Rooster 1 7 $33 $205 -$275

Did we all back that champion MALcolm?
For those who follow my tips, REEWAYA has pulled up with a sore hoof
so it would say to ignore the run.

The BIG news is the track bias, horses who raced near the rails dominated
ther races yesterday, a ridicolous indictment on the carnival.
There were 21 placed horses yesterday in the 7 races
A STAGGERING 20 OF THE 21 HORSES THAT USED THE RAILS SECTION
WERE IN THE PLACINGS[horses that raced at about 75 % or more of its
race near the fence in the run]

Im 2nd now, its just a matter of time before I round up WIDEGIE.

Well, folks - not good form at all from yours truly! Last week summed it up beautifully when, from 4 selections, none of which were over $15 - ALL ran last! Should be a prize for that alone.

Cup Day traditionally throws up the big roughie somewhere - ol' Perce will be searching feverishly for that one!
