Prob that ruling in so it wont affect TAB + BOOKIE betting with reductions etc.

it doesnt though- in the 2006? geelong cup mr president (or something like that) missed the start by getting caught in teh barrier and ended up running 4th but was declared a non-runner and was scratched so heaps of people missed the first 4 as it was favourite i think

i agree with may_z, i recall a horse in nsw being declared a non-runner after it was placed, perhaps the rules have different situations for every case :shock:
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

The rule came in March 2005, after an incident interstate. The rule only applies for first, second or third.
