1 RISK IT... racing well, below best but sMALl field means it should be clear early and hard to beat
2 STEVIE MCLAREN...struggling of late but can improve in the sMALl field
3
4 AUNTY VIC... capable of anything but seems to find one better over this trip
5
6 BARELYS IMAGE...landed some big wagers last Mon, this is harder, but will be trying its heart out
7
8 AWESOME RYLES...box suits and looks the leader and can run a big race in front

SELECTIONS 1-4-6-8

.....ADV.....MALODDS
1. $2-00...$2-10
2. $6-00...$11-00
4. $2-20...$3-00
6. $15-00..$6-00
8. $8-00...$6-00

Very difficult race to assess
RISK IT would annihilate these if anywhere near its best
For that reason I cant recommend any big investments
Too many ifs and buts to select with any confidence
Unless I get a big over on the TAB Im gunna watch the race
If I watch I will hope the Ryles Kennel runner Awesome Ryles can win
If AR does not salute than I hope the the Dodgingandweaving pet BARELYS IMAGE wins

FOOTNOTE
Only 5 runners
But if the club puts on more 731m races on a consistent basis then this will remedy itself hopefully
A lot of these stayers have to go to the 643m at Gawler to race as there are a lack of distance races in this state

It would be good to have 2 distance races a night

CANNINGTON SATURDAY NIGHT

1 - 3 looks the top pick from the 2 as main danger

2 - 2 class dog in this field

3 - 2 on top from 4,6

4 - 2 from 5 then 4,8

5 - 1,3,8 are the main players
1 - looks top pick as its boxed beautifully
3 would probably need to lead to win but can place
8 looks a safe place bet

6 - 5 from 8 then 1,2,3,4

7 - 2,8 are the main two chances here with 1,3,4

8 - 1,3,5 main chances
1 looks the place chance as its running on
3 top pick, strong finisher needs a clear run during middle stages
5 ultra consistent and must include in multis - quinellas/exactas - will be thereabouts

9 - 2,7 should run the quinella here, by far and away the best 2 dogs

10 - 2,5 top picks with 1,7 for multis

11 - 2,8 on top and 6 looks the clear next pick

12 - 2,4,5 look the main chances - the 2 if can jump in the leading division should be able to do enough to get the win

AR isn't at 100% peak fitness as yet as showed in his run last night. Lack of 731m races for the higher graded dogs has meant we nominated 4 weeks in a row at Angle Park without getting a run so we headed to Gawler 643m with an unfit dog. he needed the run last night just to get the fitness and k's back into his legs. Will strip a lot fitter for the run. Another 731m next Thursday then we are into the heats for the Nationals.

We have NATIONAL DIST races coming up
And we have a trainer that has limited opportunities to prepare his dog in lead up races
And GRSA is inquiring about 300m races .....
Very frustrating isint it RK

I have already voiced my frustration to the grader and to P.Smith. Have also written in a letter of frustration for this problem to be looked into at the next ICG meeting. We have had several open grade and Best 8 races changed to mixed 4/5 graded races meaning the higher graded dogs have stayed home in their kennels whilst the 4th and 5th grade dogs got to race. The fittest distance dogs in our state at the moment are the lower graded dogs simply because they have been racing regularly. Considering we have our heats for Nationals coming up in 2 weeks time a few trainers i have spoken to see it as an absolute disgrace we cant get starts for our dogs. Pointless getting starts for a stayer just 2 weeks out from the heats as it simply isn't enough time to get the K's into the dogs legs in time to be competitive enough against the best stayers in Australia.

It has got to a point there is no use owning or training a distance dog in this state anymore as you just dont know how many weeks its going to be stuck just sitting in a kennel not getting a race.

With GRSA looking into 300m racing at Gawler and 400m racing at Angle Park we may as well just breed or buy speedy squibs that can only run 400m max.

Personally i think we are heading in the wrong direction in this state.

What does everyone like tonight at Sale and Canberra?

Turanza Bale is sure to start two's on, or somewhere close enough to that with their being only one challenger in the race in #5 GRANADA. Which Pete Eustace puts on top, wonder whether he is just avoiding the shorts of Turanza and looking for the next best thing. But really, Turanza should be way, way too classy for these.

Looks a fairly resonable exotic race. #1-5-2-7.

#1 $1.80
#2 $12.50
#3 $44
#4 $22
#5 $5.50
#6 $51
#7 $15
#8 $33
