there are far too many internationals who get invited without having to prove themselves locally first.

this years Cup doesnt possess as much depth as other years.

Have to agree mT79- looking at the weights (handicapping) there is no depth in this at all.

Does anyone know if the Simon O'Donnell/Shane Crawford syndicate ended up buying Basaltico?

i believe they did - 50% and will stay in australia after the cup

think terry henderson is O'Donnells main partner with the thoroghbreds and Crawf has got in on this one

good luck to them

had a brief look at form

a mate of mine has done some markets and theres a few horses he has rated higher then i would have.

compared to the fixed odds on tabsportsbet the óvers' in this market are

1,2,9,15,22,23

I just cant go past 2 of Barts runners in Viewed and Roman Emperor

there look to be a few horses that will be in contention for trifectas and first 4's

but genuine winning hopes, just look very hard to find

An absolute f...up
The day b4 the Cup we have schoolies doing thier exams
Very poor planning by the Education sectors to have the distraction of school exams for our aspiring teenage gamblers.
Governments and Education departments need to held responsible for this outlandish f..k up

Booney I like young boys at that age
Im not a Pedo
But they are nearly 18 which means they will open Betfair and TAB accounts soon.
That = more money for me to win off them ....

Im gunna study the Cup form tonight
Sentimentally my heart is for Alcopop
Not becoz its SA
Becoz its owned by Gentleman John Kelton, one of the nicest, polite racetrack personalities in SA
Good luck to Kel and the Alcopop gang

Our top 6 this morning on the RPH Monday Show:

1. Viewed
2. Basaltaco
3. Daffodil
4. Alcopop
5. Warringah
6. Kibbutz

Mixture of runners that have shown something in lead up runs and form on the board, and likely to get the trip, with Kibbutz the real roughie.
Can you guess where I'm calling from, the Las Vegas Hilton...

Well done to the BIRD BRAINED **** at Punitab for putting a First 4 j/pot of $193,310 onto the Melbourne Cup tomorrow.
Simply dumb as dogshit they are.
The whole point of the jackpots is to stimulate betting and provide some value to the punter on the particular race they put it on. Er Derrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. The F4 pool on the CUP is the biggest on any race for the year any way, probably a few million and the j/pot will have NO influence on whether the punters take a F4 on this race or not WHERE AS if they put the j/pot on say the LAST race of the day when the Losing punters are looking to get out of the shit or the winning punters are cashed up and want to go for the kill, the tab would have attracted extra hundreds of thousands $$$$$$$$ of turnover bcos the value would be there.
I know some punters that WONT be taking a F4 on the cup but if it was the last race they would've invested 5 - 10 K.
My pet cat thats been dead for 10 years would still be capable of making more sensible decisions than those Dumbos running the tab.

hmm there must be some kind of calculator somewhere...

im thinking of splitting it up... havign maybe 4 for the win, 7 for 2nd and 10 for 3rd etc... just impossible to work out how much that would cost or the % id get etc...

all a bit of fun, cant expect to pick a melb cup winner on form lol.. the rest of the days racing is pretty average as usual on this day.. had a quick look over form and almost anything can win in any race... some good coutnry horses mixed with some poor city horses...

the only standout up till race 7 is race 5 definitely ready i think its called... dominated in its 3 starts but will only pay 1.60 max

anyone got some tips?
