well the win bets finished in the black again yesterday, nothing spectaular but a profit of 27% on turnover, both the place and e/w bets showed a loss, a pattern emerging if they dont win they dont place either which surprises me a little bit but anyways here are todays selections:

BALLARAT RACE TWO: 10 the eachway selection

Tipster: BRIAN BLACKWELL

A dashing debut display signals a likely win from (10) Gracie Louise 11/4 when she steps out for her second career start in race 2, a Mdn Plate (fillies & mares) 1200m at Ballarat on Thursday.

The Oamaru Force 3YO filly made a hugely impressive debut in a Mdn 1100m at Ballarat on Oct 5. Buried well back to the turn, she struck a difficult passage in the home stretch and had to be eased across heels inside the 200m to get clear running. She rattled home to finish 3rd/16, btn 1.6 lens, behind Call The Law. It was a real eye-catching performance. She's at the same track today, gets an extra 100m and she's drawn well in gate #3. I'll be very surprised if she's not fighting out the finish.

HAWKESBURY RACE THREE: 9 the eachway selection

If she can improve only a length or two from her debut outing then (9) Ever The Same 4/1 is going to prove hard to beat in race 3, a Mdn Plate (fillies and mares) 1300m at Hawkesbury.

The Canny Lad 3YO, trained by Anthony Cummings, turned in a sparkling effort at her first raceday outing, finishing 2nd/9 in a Mdn 1100m (slow) at Warwick Farm on Oct 3. She was 5th on the inside to the turn and forged to the line boldly despite being on the worst section of the badly rain-affected track. She wound up only a long neck behind the useful Debelle, who had the better of the 'going' wider on the track. Ever The Same should prove a good bet. The danger might well come from (10) American Mistress 5/2, who resumes off a break since mid-June when she ran 5th/9 to Western Classic at Canterbury 1550m (OMW hdcp). Her top rating was her 2nd/11 Randwick-K 1300m (OMW) on May 24, btn a length by Swerte Bella.

seems to me that there are more people than not wanting this thing to turn out to be a loser, sad little lot arent we? :(
