ouch, so close to the cash!!

When in tourny play i try to survive to the prizemoney. Either build up stack early and wait or just be patient. But i also at times lack patience. Other times get no cards to play or get ****** on flop

That's a nice deep run JK, would have thought with a field that big more than 10 would have got paid.

It was a qualifier bud, so 10 x $550 tickets to a final up for grabs.

I reckon also being a freebie, that there would have been say 20-50 people who were registered but didnt play, so just blinded out.

Adelaide Casino no longer run tournaments on Public Holidays due to penalty rates making running them unprofitable.
Times are tough for them, thats why they now have the highest Rake for cash games in the world and have DOUBLED their prices for soft drinks etc from $1 to $2

Saw there were a few tournament stories floating around so thought Id share mine

joined pokerstars.net a few years ago and on my 4th or 5th online tourney I went in was a $5 entry and there was from memory several thousand entries.
It started at 1:00am ( I had just finished arvo shift)....... to cut a long story short at just before 11:00am ( a very long 10 hours later) I was in the final 3 on the final table - 1st prize was 3200, second was 2500ish and third was 1500ish.

about 5 minutes later and a couple of lucky flops yours truley pockets 3200 (american.... when aussie dollar was lower) walked away with $3800 from a $5 investment. took $3500 out of the account straight away and bought a large Sony LCD.

Went in plenty more tourneys with the other $300 and have never even looked like getting anywhere near the big money.
(I think the big win made me too impatient to play for so long again.)

Still $350 an hour for playing poker that night was very enjoyable.
I still watch TV with a smile on my face to this day!!!!! 8) 8)
Beat the whites of eggs with a pinch of salt until stiff...Continue beating, gradually adding sugar, vinegar and vanilla, until of thick consistency.
