Thankfully I have refrained from following your tips...

You might have betta luck when the GGs start up at Ravendale Park.. You then know which ones have the juice in them....

Yes having a poor week and the pool is now down to $578.....
Mary Goodnight batled on well for thirdbut in the end was UNDERS at $1.70.Volta Bolta was held up and cost it a place. Daring fortune flew late for fourth. Our desertcrossing ran fourth and Just an Illusion was ridden poorly....
So, we are suffering from bad luck which every now and again breaks out amoungst punters. Not much we can do it about it. The selections are all running very well and we'll just carry on doing what we are doing until this nasty disease goes away. Having a poor run but in fairness I was probably due a run of outs. But as you know by now your betting bank is there to get you through the losing runs.

This is also a good test of our resolve now. We have not had the little bit of luck you need lately and it is frustrating to watch your horse come fourth and only just get beaten a place. However as I said the selections are running well, the prices have been acceptable and by maintaining our discipline and focus we will be back on track soon. Be patient though. We will wait for the right bets to come along. We wont be betting just for the sake of it. Remember I want to get back to winning ways!! But I will do it the right way.

Jump off my tips at your own peril.

Daring Fortune was beaten long neck 4th- not a bad run, it ran up the arse of another horse about 800 out, & went back a few lengths. The margins for the race would've been- neck x nose x short half head. Could've thrown a hanky over the first 4.

A bit off topic I know, but Ive read a lot on here about horses being unders or overs. Can someone give me a definition of these in simple English?

Overs= over the odds
Unders= under the odds

Toss of a Coin
The chances of it being heads are 50% ($2 or even money)
The chances of it being tails are 50% ($2 or even money)

Betting %'s explained-
http://safootycentral.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3852

Now, we have 2 local bookies- Bird-brain Bird & Punk Rooster. Punk Rooster is a smart operator & know that the result of Heads or Tails is equal, so he has them at 50% each(100% total)- however, he needs an operating margin (advantage), as his Merc didn't pay for itself, so he makes them 53% each (106% total), which reflects in the price being $1.90 each, which is an accurate reflection of the chances of the outcome.
Meanwhile, Bird-brain Bird has seen the last 5 spins come up tails, & he reckons they're a goosd thing to keep winning- so Bird-brain makes Tails $1.30 (77%), & lets Heads drift to $3.40 (29%)- total % of 106% (same as Punk, % wise).
Bayman, Mal & MT79, after spending all lunch at a burlesque bar, & paying for lap dances, see Punk's prices- they all agree it is spot on, & therefore, there is no value. However, they spot Bird- brains board & pounce on Heads like theirs no tomorrow- in their mind, Heads should be $1.90, but they can get overs of $3.40 - which is exceptional value (on a 50/50 bet). Another Grub enters the ring, but likes tails to win, but sees that they are unders at $1.30, so goes over to PR & backs them at the correct price ($1.90).
The result is Tails gets up- Bayman, Mal & MT79 are disappointed they don't win, but know if they continue to get those odds allday, they must come out in front, as they have taken overs.
Another Grub is happy to have a collect, but decides to quit while he's ahead, because if he keeps betting, he will lose, because he is getting the correct odds & paying the house advantage.
The people who backed Tails @ $1.30 must lose if they keep betting at those odds- they have taken unders.

Bit long winded, but this should make sense to even the none gambler, & also entertain those who got a mention.

That's funny, because MT79 told me he'd pre-paid for his time but that I could use it.

When I rocked up and told them, I got 1 and a half minutes added :(

had an all nighter last night and problems at home with mrs grub,... crook as a dog as we speak.... the last thing on my mind at the minute is the punt....... need to work out wether I want a MRS or not ..... need to have a look at myself after my antics last night... I just seem to be putting my mates from the footy club first....... as you do........ at the cross roads..... THEREFORE there will be NO place betting system today..... not prepaired to put tips in just for the sake of it.
HOWEVER.... we cant go a day without a punt so as a side bet I suggest at Sale that Freedmans 2 CERTS will WIN........ Showify all up Pinsemtoit....ALL UP WIN

Tommorow I have a couple picked out and am confident of a healthy profit....till then GRUB

HAHA - I can't beleive you remember that!

I have a few flexi hours built up so I plan to have one in the next few weeks.

I have a flaxi this Tuesday coming but that's for a hospital visit - going to be a Daddy!

(Not yet - that's in April/May)
