gee Gadj we shouldve got together

I really liked the 6 Harris Tweed

I had it as my caulfield cup selection for the free comp on sportsbet

I saw that MT. To be honest, I looked straight past the 6. Der!

I'm spewing now though. In the Sportsbet free Cups Double comp, I picked the 15 to win and noted that with Shocking to win the Melb cup it was 445/1 (I put no money on it, just took it in the free comp).

Shocking would have to firm in for the cup after its last 300m. So I'm on Shocking to win the Melb cup big time now. And I might even get some money in the Sportsbet comp (I'll have to read up the conditions of entry!).

Cups Double - Pick the Winner of Caulfield Cup and Melbourne Cup to win $10,000 cash
Caulfield / Melbourne Cup Double
Your current selection is Descarado (B M W Caulfield Cup 2400m) - Shocking (2010 Melbourne Cup).

Pick the winners of both the 2010 Caulfield Cup and Melbourne Cup to win $10,000 cash!

It's easy and free to enter.

Select the Caulfield Cup and Melbourne Cup winning double from the easy-select table of horses and you can win $10,000 cash. In 2009 six tipsters selected the Cups Double of Viewed into Shocking and took home $1,667 each! - Could you be the member to scoop the cash this year?

If you are new to Sportsbet and have not registered as a Member, Join now to be eligible to enter. Joining takes under two minutes and its private and secure to join!

Has anyone else entered and more importantly is anyone still alive - I hope not! :D

It's incredible how fickle some these media sports pundits are.

I was watching the Caulfield Cup on Channel 9 and listening to the comments of the presenters, particularly the girl who seemed very pumped up. She was waxing lyrical about Shocking saying how fantastic the horse was and how the conditions weren't going to affect it one bit.

They all gave Descarado barely a passing mention before the race but as soon as it crossed the line first they were going gaga over the horse and Gai Waterhouse almost in an "I told you so" manner.

Everyone (particularly the media) wants to be associated with a winner.

Mr Medici is looking good for coming weeks. Ran 6th in a G1 for it's 1st run in 5 months. Found out with it's fitness but massive effort.

Got the phone call this morning about Descarado from Melbourne and its wet weather form and traveling well at track work. Backed it fixed odds and got $22 or thereabouts and $7 the Place. Good pick up with 20 x 30 on the horse. Sorry to tell you now but as we all know as soon as you open your mouth it always loses

If you think Shockings run was good yesterday, check out Monaco Consuls effort. Will be having some of the $26 for the Melbourne Cup.

Well worth watching the replay again - both normal view and the aerial view. There were a couple of desperately unlucky runs in it. Zavite spends a lot of time cluttered between horses, checked heavily a few times and running into backwash, but works home well for seventh.

Manighar didnt look at all comfortable in the ground however was still an impressive cup trial, will probably be my main MC bet at this stage. Shockings run was superb though, and wasnt fully wound up.

Just a Q regarding the colours worn, how do they decide what colours need to be worn, is there a certain way they do it or just random?

Stables have their own colours and partnerships (or syndicates) sometimes have their own colours, generally the bigger syndicates who have multiple horses with the same stable. Tony Santic has his Makybe Diva colours which are for all his horses rather than a certain trainers as an example.
