Who do you like for the norm smith- obviously not of interest to serious punters like G but for a bit of fun I'd be interested to hear anyone's thoughts and why.
Personally I'm probably going to pick a player from each team, preferably at some sort of value. At the moment I'm thinking Peter Burgoyne running loose at half back @ $10 and Paul Chapman @ $10. Chapman is one of my favourite players, a class act who can kick goals and really hard at the ball.
If I was more confident Geelong will win I'd probably have a solid crack at just Ablett and Bartel. Think they are the flavour of the month and deservedly so as they have both played great, consistent footy.

Ive put a free $100- bet on Ablett @ $7-00 earlier in the week and notice he has shortened into $5-50 in some places

Haven't seen the odds, but midfielders tend to get the most notice when it comes to the Norm Smith. Ottens might be worth a crack and I reckon Wojcinski might be a dark horse.

D Rodan @41 for me. I think he could have a huge one, 25 possessions and 3-4 goals

Chapman historically has given the power alot of problems. He's one of the few players who has actually touched up wilburon one occasion. So i have put $10 on him.
Might also throw a couple of $ on Enright & Salopek for some value.

Dont forget the Norm Smith is not voted by the umpires but by a selected group of footy identities - that just puts a different slant on things as they get to see replays , stats etc.

getting extra value out of the Norm Smith
players very very rarely win it from the losing side and if you are a punter that likes to have ago with some players from each side, then take that team to win as well in a double.......
just an idea

Danyle Pearce at $31 looks good value. Plays well in the wet and can really break the lines with pace.
For Geelong, Ottens at $17 to carry on his great form.
If taking an absolute bolter from each team, Thurstans at $126 to hold Mooney right out of the game. Wocjinski at $51 is similar to Pearce in game style. These last two really are the roughie punts though.

Guys, just heard that Danny Frawley has the casting vote and he loves backmen.
Could be worth having a small wager on a defender like Scarlett, Harley, Hunt or Milburn.
(not inferring anything, I just have less knowledge of the Port defenders, would be worth throwing a couple of them in too)
