Caufield Cup

Anyone got any thoughts or as professional punters do you avoid the big races due to field sizes etc. I stopped betting on the Melb cup a while ago when the o/s horses started arriving making, in my opinion, form lines a little harder to track.

well I backed Maldivian in a multi when @ $14 about a month ago if the cox/cup legs get up then the payout is $250+.

will probably not put any others on save my cash for the cup onslaught

my MAiL is that it can get beaten- drawing the 1 is not the advantage some would think. Can get boxed in on the fence.
Big money for Eskimo Queen, I like something else in the race.

I suppose I should have mentioned the nags I was leaning toward. Will keep Maldivian safe in multi's, also like Master O'Reilly and a roughie in Purple Moon(yeah I know it's an o/s horse and have already expressed reservations about them!), and Eskimo Queen also.

interesting race

Maldivian quite clearly the horse to beat, but doesnt mean it cant be beaten.

I think there are 2 roughies with really good chances in this.

apart from those Eskimo Queen looks a good chance to get the double with the Melbourne CUp

I will be taking a trifecta along the lines of 7/8/11/16 to win into 5/7/8/10/11/14/15/16 for a half unit.

Others that I like on the day are Vormista who just wins from No 13 the danger.

In Race 9 I will be having something eachway on No 16.

If you are keen on something in Race 4 its usually a form race for the Derby so check out TAB Fixed prices for that event and see if your horse has been nominated. Villain $4, Bammagera $6.50 and Jabal Tarik $10 are all live chances and will firm in the betting if go ok today.
A 3's on winner is better than a 20/1 loser !!
