i think given that india are the 20/20 world cup holders (last month or so) & obviously playing at home & with the aussies eyeing off coming home to see their families & prepare for the summer i can see them not being totally focused & so i think the $2.28 (sportsbet) is big value

There was never an issue on the bet going on India at those odds
There was never a disussion of putting the $500 on a shorter priced bet
Bayman backed a $2-40 winner that was VALUE thats good astute judgement.

Centreman if my average bet on a cricket game is $20, why would I want to put $500
on a team which is not the way the I would punt with MY OWN MONEY.

I will invest my $500 methodically and back 2 teams to guarentee a profit at some stage
As I did last time and made my commission
If I fancy one of the teams I will shrewdly invest my $$$ to make a higher profit on my fancied team.

I will ask the mighty BAYMAN this question

firstly mal you DID INFACT TELL ME that it was a stupid bet, because you would not have had $500.00 of you own on & i agreed i wouldn't have $500.00 of my own on but i would have & did have $500.00 of theirs on & i would have had up to $100.00 of my own on to answer the other ? i also stated to you why i thought they were good things & you gave me the counter reasons why australia would win & centreman is CORRECT you did tell me that i should find one shorter to make it a more certain collect & then you said perhaps back something at the line with them & back the other team at the line to make a profit

I think the clever way to play this is to wait for a line bet where there is a 2-3 point difference in the spread between Sportsbet and another bookie....e.g. 36ers play Perth and the line is -5.5 at Sportsbet but at Centrebet it is -3.5....so you back both sides and if the result is 4 or 5 points you win both, if it doesnt happen you still profit $225-...

for the record I had mine on Brisbane last night -8.5....they won by 1
