Cheers guys!
MAL there isnt many distance dogs in this state to warrant many distance races. And the fact when there are distance races then just lately there have only been 5-6 nominations which doesnt look good. I currently have a distance dog in my kennels that im training for TEAM BUNDY syndicates but she is quite a few weeks away from making it back to the track. I to love the distance races as since i was a tiny tacker the distances races have been my favourite.

well we are talking about the demise of staying events and how good they are as a spectacle and punting, yet the GRSA are still considering 400m boxes at angle park.........

why not just run the blink and miss races out of the 700m boxes and be done with it if you want to run such crap

As Vicgirl stated on another thread. Nearly all breeders over the last few years have bred speed with speed and in doing that a majority of dogs born are now 300-400m speed squibs. Just about no-one uses stayers to breed with anymore.
In relation to the 400m boxes at Angle park you would find most trainers including myself would love to see them put in place BUT not for 400m races we would use them primarily to train our pups etc. At the moment we can start our pups during the break in process out of the 300m boxes at Angle Park and Gawler BUT where to from there. Well you then have to do what i have done over the last couple of weeks and that is to travel to either Port Pirie or Strathalbyn just to trial your dogs out of their 400m boxes as its pointless stepping your dogs straight up from 300m to the 500m boxes it would simply ruin them. So there is more to the 400m boxes being put in place than just 400m races.
