i believe that steve churches (thorntonsportsbet) is negotiating with the casino to relocate there
now churches has got friends in 'high places' which could eliminate a lot of the red tape

Skycity is currently trying to get rid of Adelaide, there have been a couple of potential buyers in the recent past.
It will be interesting to see if Churches gets into the Cas, but then he might get booted out with the new owners...........whenever they come along..........

Few things would make it hard for any betting firm to go to any casino let alone Adelaides.
Governments in No state of Australia allow bookies to operate anywhere bar a racecourse.
Tab would have to ok it, Won't let internet betting in not sure they would allow bookie into casino, as well as getting government approval.
What would be in it for the casino? Either very high rent cos turnover tax wouldn't be a good as filling any space up with more pokies!!!! Which then bookie would have to wonder if it would be worth being there.

If a Bookie goes to the Casino they would want one with credibilty.
The name Thornton should therefore be a no no to get in.
