globe derby 12/01/08

might as well kick this off early with the running of the group 1 sa cup

field is

1- dee dees dream
2- smoken up
3- mythical beast
4- robin hood
5- brother moon
6- iontheball
7- sequoiahs spirit
8- flaming roadstar
9- slipnslide
10- antigua bay

not a bad field- could have been better if they werent running the shepparton cup on the same night- (why not run that last week) there only seems to be a couple of runners wasting their time completely.

just a quick market i drew up in my lunch break- might need some tweaking but seems pretty close to the mark

seeing the winner here gets an exemption into the semis of the interdominion I have each horses current interdom ranking in brackets.

1- dee dees dream (39)…21
2- smoken up (13)…………..2
3- mythical beast (--)……201
4- robin hood (5)………………5
5- brother moon (--)……..101
6- iontheball (--)……………201
7- sequoiahs spirit (26)….12
8- flaming roadstar (33)..21
9- slipnslide (4)……………..4.50
10- antigua bay (56)……..21
market 117%

mt 79 shepperton cup is only worth $40,000 with a hunter cup exemption for the winner- that should have been run last week.

No point running it last week.
Horsham Cup was on. Worth 50k with a hunter cup exemption on it.
Clashes are unavoidable. Wa cup on Fri night worth 400K.
EI is the problem not that many horses able to travel around for the grand circuit.

possibly but this is a group 1 event- the other cups should be programmed around it. perth a little different most people wont go over to perth for one race.

I must say - i'd like some of the $14 Dee Dees Dream e/w (place only would be even better @ $3 or $3.25 a place!!) and even better at the $21 - there is your value in the race, his form is outstanding at the moment and is a really good value place / e/w chance in this race...

agreed he is a very good place chance- dont think he can win though- has been a bit of a favourite of mine throughout the years so tried not to let that influence my odds.

i'd back dee dees dream especially for a place at those odds & slipnslide straight out, remember it is not that long ago that it beat blacks a fake fairly & squarely

slipnslide did lead thoughthat night with blacks a face in the breeze- plus i dont think that was rasmussens greatest drive.
