The Golden Maiden Series has been postponed due to lack of nominations, 12 in fact.

Disgusting when you consider the prizemoney on offer!

So in turn i will now be nominating my 2 dogs for a Maiden at Angle Park next Wednesday.

CHEERS ALL!

they used to have hundreds of nominations meaning 10-12 qualifying heats then 4 semi finals and then the final...our breding industry shot?

12 noms and out of those one of them won its maiden this week which only would of left 11 dogs.
I would of liked to have seen the trainers that did nominate their dogs and were willing to pay the $20 nom fees rewarded by NOT postponing the series. The fact on average there are at least 6 or more full field maiden races held in Adelaide between Angle Park and Gawler each week just shows it must be the $20 nom fees that have turned people away.

Oh well ANGLE PARK here we come!!

I admire RYLES for his dedicated approach to breeding and nurturing dogs.
However you will learn that the morally right approach may not be profitable.
Breeding dogs has declined alarmingly over the years.
Many trainers take the easier option of purchasing Interstate dogs and
racing them in SA instead of breeding and possibly wasting a lot of time
and financial resources.
Trainers are finding the buying of interstate dogs is a more financially viable exercise.
I CANT BLAME THOSE TRAINERS FOR ADOPTING THIS METHODOLOGY.

Unless there is a more pronounced assistance from the SAGRA this will continue.
And ultimately rookie trainers like RYLES unless they breed early winners eventually
may resort to buying interstate dogs as well.

There are breeding incentive bonuses now, but they are not enough

MY IDEA
If you have $1000 per race
and say $700 to the winner
I would pay $600 to the winner
and only give the extra $100 if its SABRED

IN say 10 races there is $1000 in $$$ for SABRED dogs to gain
If 1 dog only for the night is SABRED then it gets the $1000
If 1 = 1000
if 2 = 500 each
if 5 = 200 each
if 10 =100 each

But then again I thought of this instead of a SAGRA staff member, so it wont happen

For the RYLES types Im afraid its
PRIDE OR PROFIT

Because you thought of it not because its a dud idea ?.

actually most of it seems ok im not over sure about giving a gorilla to people because they are lucky enough to be the only sabred winner on the night, all bonus should be the same.

i agree that they should reward the trainers who are supporting the series.

Imagine if there was one SABRED winner on the very first night it was implemented
that would be a $1000 to that trainer to reinvest back into the breeding industry if desired.

If you redirect 10% of all prizemoney back to the breeders it could kickstart the breeding industry.

I dont reckon its a dud idea

The 2 week postponement wont help 1 of my dogs!
He has pushed the quik back off one of his front toes and well blood has been pi**ing out.
Fixed the boy up and he will be sent for a short spell as i refuse to run any of my dogs with any soreness.

The other dog i have nominated for a maiden at Angle Park next week.

I wont hold my breathe either as i spent 6 weeks setting both my dogs for the series.
