I was discussing the SANFL Final Five market yesterday with some guys who have experience setting these markets for the bookies, and we came up with the following...

Do people think these odds are about right? (keeping in mind the bookies always give themselves a high percentage for the local comp)

Odds to make the five in season 2006

1.07 Centrals
1.12 Eagles, Port
1.15 North
1.80 Norwood, Sturt
2.50 South
4.00 Glenelg
5.00 West

given that 6 teams are odds on to fill in 5 positions i think the other 3 are 'unders', I mean realistically West and Glenelg wont make the 5

i believe that the final 5 market (with seal) will go up in the next week or so but for what its worth i'd have

central 1.03
north 1.16
port 1.16
eagles 1.20
sturt 1.60
norwood 2.20
south 2.75
glenelg 3.50
west 5.00

thats what i'd have, but if i were running a book it'd be different as i'd do what they do & have 6 or even 7 teams odds on to win & no i'm not laying any bets from this market
