A Kearney has taken the mantle Scaffidi once had - he would be one of the worst drivers i've seen....
Floral Edge is a sit sprinter only - coming 3 wide at the bell was the
ONLY way that horse could have got beaten and the moron got it beat... Where is Humphrey B Bear when you need him...
On the other front - How good was the drive of P Russo on Manic Depression (I was on Another Blu

) - the horse was clearly wayward due to gear problems in the last 400m and he still managed to punch it out to win, that was a pretty good driving effort I thought.
What about the fact thats how Kearney was told to drive it by its trainer. Trainer said he did what he was told. Had No complaints!!! My opinon I don't think horses go for the lad. Must remember has been driven by D harding And M Craven last few runs may of been why horse ran below its last few runs. Would of thought horse would of won with either of those blokes on it driven the same way!!!!
Ps Russo knocked his rein out of his hand with own whip!!! No gear trouble Driver Error!!!!That comes from Chief Steward G lalor.
Not sure Floral Edge would have won with those kind of tactics, no matter who the driver was. Every race the horse has won - it's had cover into the race or taken off 500m from home, not 1000m from home - it's not in the horses make up to be 3 wide at the bell without cover.
But I do agree with you Chiefy - some people have them run for you, others don't and Kearney just doesn't seem to get horses to run for him. Trains them good though, almost as good as ex Kapunda trainer
Re P Russo - I was having a few drinks at Crown on Saturday with a couple of friends and backed Another Blu, I wasn't aware he knocked the whip out of his hand, because I wasn't home and hadn't done enough review yet, but you were correct again and he was a lucky boy to win the race with that kind of skill to knock his own rein out of his hand.
