Bundy gets his first start Saturday!

Postby Dutchy » Wed May 28, 2008 7:41 pm

The dog advertised here by Ryles-Kennels a few months back, and quite a few of the G/Room have a share in, makes his race debut at Tweed Heads on Saturday -

1 Club Banora Maiden Heat 1
M 1.15 420m

1 REMEMBER SANDY D CRATES First Start
2 SAND BUNKER J PERRETT (Q) 8 Starts. 0-3-0
3 SPECIAL OFFER RC COOKE First Start
4 LUCY'S IMAGE J DART First Start
5 AULBER HOUSE P FELGATE First Start
6 DISCO DANCER M JOHNSTON First Start
7 CHINDIA J FALVEY 4 Starts. 0-0-1
8 FORMER LEIGH WHITMORE & THOMSON 1 Starts. 0-0-0

Apparently he has blistering early speed, so hopefully a forward showing will be on the cards as the lad kicks off his career...

BAYMAN
Forget about backing it with the Bookies
I was at the track last year and there were 2 dog Bookmakers
Both opened up at about 200% + each race
The final SPs averaged out to about 160-175%

The track is called Border Park
Its actually on the border of NSW + QLD
The track is off this street
On one side is QLD
The other side is NSW
Ironically the QLD side was on water restrictions from a drought when I wuz there
The NSW side was not !!!!
Also when there is daylight saving one side is 1 hour faster or slower than the other

I arrived there for a meet paid to get in and could only see about 20 people
I thought how could they charge admission for this dive
I walked into the auditorium complex and was astounded
They have about 100+ computers on course showing market changes and quins/trifecta approximates for the Saturday horse races
All these pensioners typing away on the puters was startling
The food was cheap
The Bookies were nice
The staff were helpful
Punters were great
One old fella showed me how to use the computer !!!!
Just a wonderful place
One of the very best courses Ive been to around Australia

Yes Im in the Remembering Sandy syndicate
This dog was named appropriately
RYLES-KENNELS put thru this name for a friend that he had who passed away
This is a tribute to Sandy
Someone I have never met, but feel privalleged that this dog name passes on her legacy

As for the dog

Goooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo the champ

PS
If it was a TAB meeting it would make no difference
I couldnt back it
the way DUTCHY/BAYMAN/MT79 bet the dog would end up paying a $1-10 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

sluggish early

took a while to balance up and get wound up

once wound up he extended nicely, easily coering the rest of the field

well done to all involved

on another note

a shame the Gold Coast track is being demolished

lovely track and facilities along with cheap beers.

This was Bundy's very first run in a full field. Only ever been around with one other dog in trials. Was also the first time he had ever been led out of the boxes so to see his reaction to this happening was very pleasing. The fact he chased hard and got past all but 1 of the dogs in front of him was great. Also with the winter cup carnival being held at Albion Park at the moment all the top trainers have taken up their second string dogs and their top pups so they can raid the country tracks while they are up there. Hence P.Felgate and co having quite a few dogs in at Tweeds at the weekend.

In the end Bundy has run a nice 2nd on debut and has been vet checked and has pulled up 100% fine. He will only benefit from the experience of his first race and will only get better as he gets fitter.

GREAT news BUNDY ran 3rd today in the final. Once again he blew the start and absolutely motored home.

We will now start getting him ready to race over the 500m which will suit him much more.

GEOFF!

P.S. I will have the DVD of both his races by the end of the week so i will make copies for all those who want one.
