What most people don't realise is that the chances of winning such a bet are much better than if you entered a lottery where first prize is an equivalent amount. (since the percentages used in lotteries are much, much worse than the percentages used by bookmakers)

So it isn't such a stupid idea if you want to have a very small chance to win a very big amount of money!
(Much more sensible than buying a lottery ticket)

Good luck RK!

It all depends on what your aim of gambling is...

 If you don't care about making a small loss, but just want to have some chance of "getting rich quick" then multis are for you.

 If you are a serious gambler whose goal is to maximise your chance of making an overall profit, then you are better off sticking to single bets on a (relatively) few number of events, only betting when you truly believe that the bookmakers have the odds wrong.

If you are somewhere in between, then a mixture of both may suit you...
(I am very much in the second category, hence why I am always against your multis, MayZ. )

I suppose im a serious punter in that i punt on what i think are sure things at smaller odds and that is where i make my profits. BUT with half of those profits i put into multis like the one ive posted and the other half back into my main stream punting. Keeps some fun into my punting.

Have just started taking tennis and soccer multis as you can get some decent odds. As you can see though i only invest small amounts in these multis as they are just for fun. Saying that though i think i have over 40odd different multis currently going.

Leg 1 Multi - WTA - Wimbledon - Semi Finals - Matches
Elena Dementieva v Venus Williams - Venus Williams (2-0) | MULTI Odds: 28.73 - $3 Win - Set Betting $3.00 1.70 Resulted $86.19 $83.19
Leg 2 Multi - WTA - Wimbledon - Semi Finals - Matches
Jie Zheng v Serena Williams - Serena Williams (2-0) - Win - Set Betting 1.50
Leg 3 Multi - ATP - Wimbledon - Quarter Finals - Matches
Roger Federer v Mario Ancic - Roger Federer (3-0) - Win - Set Betting 1.45
Leg 4 Multi - ATP - Wimbledon - Quarter Finals - Matches
Andy Murray v Rafael Nadal - Rafael Nadal (3-0) - Win - Set Betting 2.10
Leg 5 Multi - ATP - Wimbledon - Quarter Finals - Matches
Marat Safin v Feliciano Lopez - Marat Safin (3-1) - Win - Set Betting

Leg 1 Multi - Swedish Allsvenskan - Round 13

If its the same odds as a lottery then what you have done is better
You get to use your intellect instead of a reliance of a bunch of braindead lottery numbers

Agree with lotteries, they only payout 60% of the pool in prizes, people are honesty better off spending money spent on lotteries on other forms of gambling, even Pokies will give you a much much better return...

And agree that single bets are the only true way Professionals make money, bookies love people taking multis its their bread and butter, but cant agree with only betting a few events Ecky, if you stick to the same principles and strategy there are numerous ways of making $$$ e.g. Ive had over 500 bets already in the MLB this year and we aint even half way thru yet! plus martingdale systems etc etc

All pro punters will tell you is you can hit 55% of your single line bets (e.g $1.91) you will never have to work again....thats only 5.5 out of 10 you have to get right...sounds easy eh? try putting it in practice over 1000 bets...its tough!

anyone remember the kiwi punter who had about 11 or 12 sporting results in a multi that spanned over 6-8 months

it was the year wales may have won the 6's union tourney in europe, not quite sure.

spent like $5 and got back close to $50k

It all depends on
1) How much knowledge you have of various sports
2) How often games in this sport occur
3) How prone the bookmakers are to making mistakes

If you have a wide knowledge of many sports and have the time to study the odds and are lucky enough to find bookmakers who bet the wrong odds, then of course, it is best to bet often!

For me, the only competition where I am confident that I can consistently assess markets better than the bookmakers is the SANFL, so unfortunately there aren't that many betting opportunities for me. :(
