OLYMPIC GAMES BETTING

Postby mal » Wed Jul 30, 2008 10:19 am

I will abstain from betting on the Olympic Games
Too many medals won by athletes who are on performance enhanching concoctions.
There are no formguides available denoting which drugs the athletes are taking
So I cant bet blind can I .

I have a betting meduim and framed a market on the naming rights

$1-90 Olympic Shames
$1-90 Beijcheating Games

Sick to death of them already and they havent even started.
Just more Sporting S&%T to go with the 90% of crap footy stories to fill up the back dozen pages of the Tiser.

Yep, agreed that the Games are going to be affected by athletes taking Drugs, but hopefully, if Le Tour was anything to go by, most of the cheats will be put in their place. Was pretty happy with the officials over in France, and despite the fact that 2 of the stages were won by drug cheats, it was good to see them kicked out of the le tour and named and shamed to the whole world. Cant be a good feeling.

Had a look at some of the swimming events and got a good roughy i reckon. The Japanese fella, Kosuke Kitajima looks good odds @ $4.50 in the 100m Breastroke. He has had some great clashes in the past with Brendan Hansen and i think it really is a two horse race with not much between them, so the $4.50 looks terrific value.

Michael Phelps should dominate just about everything he is in so if you multi up a few of his events you should get some sort of return.

Also got some mail that Kathryn Hoff, from the USA, should come pretty close to winning the 400m individual medley. The $1.70 that is quoted is probably inflated/over the odds due to the fact that the 2nd favourite is the lovely Australian Stephanie Rice!!

Will have more of a say when the Games get closer, but i cant wait to see what transpires!

Of course they won't let you as they aren't independent events - that's just common sense.

Altho channel 7 only showed a 1/4....and not even live  the aussies defence was deplorable!! would have thought at least a goorjian coached team might have got it right at that end of the floor. Could the boomers go the same way as every other organisation Boy Goorj has been in charge of?? Seriously tho i thought we might have been a roughie for a medal with our form in the lead up games...if we play like that we will be lucky to win a game.
