I was pissed Friday night and offered a Bay mate odds of 50/1 that Glenelg wouldn't finish in the top 4, he put up a $1000 and I accepted. Am I safe???

Obviously way over odds but it wasn't an overly serious bet till he wagered $1000. Being smashed I just said bugger it, I'll take you on. Surely with Centrals, Eagles, Port & North having strong lists it'll be an easy $1000 heading my way. IIRC the bet was also made at 1/4 time Friday night.....

Hmmm... I wonder if you are still so confident, WCP?

My mail is that the bookies are now rating the Bays a better than even money bet to make the five!

Can WCP pay out 50g's??? More importantly, has the gorilla been put up? If so, the bet is ON! If not, well I'm glad I'm not involved either way. I've got Dutchy (?) going for 50/25 on the Yabs making the top 5- he's not looking bad at the moment.

Will you side with me on that one Booney? The worst part about this bet is that my side probably has the best chance to pinch fourth from them, and we haven't finished in the five since 92!! Using the Footysa calculator I reckon it could come down to that last game of the year between us as to who takes 4th, provided we beat Norwood, West & Sturt and Glenelg lose to Central & North.

I reckon Bayman & Dutchy would strongly disagree!

I agree with dutchy and PR ....if you are tough enough to sprut your mouth off and give odds... you should take the bet.... especially if its a mate you trust.

What do we all reckon now fellas, more in my favour? Just need Port to win one against the Eagles or North, or my Panthers knock the Bays over in the last game. Go Port, FFS........(insert emoticon showing someone shitting themselves!!)

If Port don't win another game, then the winner of South v Glenelg gets 4th spot (by % over Port, as they will be on = wins)
If Port win 1 game (they sew up 4th spot) & the South v Glenelg game is a battle for 5th spot)
If Port & Central do not win another game for the year, then the winner of South v Glenelg plays for 3rd spot.(by % over Central, as they will be on = wins)
* the above scenario is worked out on South beating West this week.
* Glenelg & South cannot both finish in the 5
* Port have enough wins to guarantee finals action
