Betfair Park

Postby another grub » Sun Nov 16, 2008 9:43 pm

Well after Betfair not being allowed in Vic..... Sandown will be now known as 'betfair park' for the next 3 years..... any thoughts..... TAB would be spewing.....
I think betfair are great and will change the way of punting...... but I just hope they put some money back into racing prizemoney as the TAB currently do and that racing does not suffer..... TVN are now giving betfair prices when they mention tote/bookie prices on favourites..... the way of punting is changing

Any thoughts???? dutchy? MT?
BL are $1-00-2  thats not even $1-01

Didnt BETFAIR sponsor a major dog race in tassie recently, so they are pumping $$$$ back into the industry, which they need to do.

BETFAIR has changed the way of punting GRUB, instead of looking at the card trying to pick winners you can now find horses that are in the market that cant win.

the TAB would be spewing, but perhaps this is the kick up the ass that they need to try and revitalise their product to compete with BETFAIR and other corporate bookies who give punters incentives to punt with them.

on a side note, other accounts i have with dont have a minimum deposit via B-PAY - unitab have a min of $100 :? wtf

Yes Betfair are getting bigger and bigger, they are huge in teh UK, just look at the pools just before the jump in their races

It only makes sense to have an acount with them ,if your going to punt you might as well have the best odds

will be interesting if the TAB list them as their new name!!!

As long as they put the same money back in I dont mind if they take over the market.

They will dominate win/place betting.

TAB will still have the monopoly on exotics which they need to concentrate on and promote ..... having 1 tab system for the country would be much better to.

Agree Grub - we need one tote across the country.

Interesting that most bookies have died beause they didn't see the need to change... they didn't with my father's generation but move on a few years... The only change they made was cosmetic - showing dividends on their board instead of odds; Now its the TAB's turn to act like dinosaurs - but of course we have the ridiculous situation of TABs being privatised but subject to so much Government regulation...
