Australia vs Bahrain World Cup Qualifer

Postby whufc » Wed Nov 19, 2008 12:23 pm

Im going to have a bet on this one tonight not sure what the odds are but am going to put:

$50 - under 2.5 goals for the game on Punitab

I can't see this game being a shootout with an understrength Australia side playing. At best i can see the aussies winning 2-0, and can't see Bahrain scoring any more than one goal.

$1.75 at Betfair, seems a reasonable bet to me, Aussies will go defensive if they get a early goal too

Ok i have had a look at the market im indecided between two bets either

under 2.5 goals for the game @ $1.75
or
Australia to win @ $1.90

what do people think is the better bet, im starting to think the Aussies for a win is the go.

OK, I'm gonna slap some cash on the Aussies for a win @ $1.85 PLUS over 2.5 goals @ $2.15.

I think the Aussies have too much fire power for the depleted Bahranians. Kewell is in too good a form
to not score one, and JK will have too much height for them. Add Cahill & Bruce and it's goodnight....

I reckon AUS to be winning at half/full time is a good bet @ $3.25

Alright i have just put my bets on i have

$50 - under 2.5 goals
$50 - Australia to win

My reason for the under 2.5 goals is im reading that Bahrain being under strengthed may play with as many as 6-7 defenders. Also if Australia do get a 2-0 lead im not sure they will keep pressing in attack

Bahrain HAVE to win. Simple as that. If they lose they will be on 1 point, with only 6 games to play and they'd have to depend on
BOTH Australia, Japan & Qatar dropping games. If they win they'll be right in it.

I'm just going for a win.

Not a big fan of soccer, but going to try and pocket a profit from this game at least. Just having a little bet, nothing huge.... Just try and make a small profit.

I've gone the following

Selection:Australia 1-0 Price:Straight @6.00
Selection:Australia 2-0 Price:Straight @8.50
Selection:Australia 2-1 Price:Straight @9.00
And just in case the unthinkable happens.
Selection:Bahrain Price:Straight @4.50

So at worst, I will be half a unit up as long as Australia doesn't go on a goal scoring spree....

Their coach is basically on his last chance... so he will be pushing them forward in search of a win, leaving them exposed at the back. I think 3-0 or 3-1 us is highly possible. And where is Scott Mcdonald?

Ill. No Chipperfield either. The only risk is our back 4 is nowehere near at full strength, with Chipperfield, Emerton and Moore not there. Chris Coyne will start, Carney might be used back there as well.

Should still be OK though.
