this is disgraceful that the once 'best wet weather track in australia' is now just a shambles as soon as a drop of water hits it, through some text messages today when i heard they were off some 'track drivers' have used the words like the 'track is a disgrace', it is a 'virtual mud heap', 'it shifts & is unsafe' these were the type of text messages i got when i've asked how much rain have you had out there, alledgedly the track is like it is because the powers at be WONT PAY FOR THE PROPER TRACK MAINTENENCE NEEDED & cut corners trying to save money
i think that there should be a plan b when this happens like transfer the meeting maybe to port pirie & give every horse enough money to cover the costs of travelling etc (i know it couldn't happen tonight because there was heavy rain in port pirie today) but overall i think it could work when they call off a meeting at lunch time, perhaps put lights up at victor & transfer to there
well at least we can't lose tonight & i dare say they wont run tomorrow night either
