Australia $1.12 favourite to fall into recession

"Not all economists would punt on Australia falling into recession, but betting agency Centrebet is offering good odds on the economy bottoming out.

The bookmaker has Australia a $1.12 favourite to fall into recession in the next 12 months and $5.50 if it is avoided."

So they keep your money [say $1000] for 12 months an EARN whatever from it.
Their worst possible result is a payout of $1120 with a chance that 11 months down the track, a recession is declared and they then keep the lot. :shock: :oops: :oops:

A recession is two consecutive periods (quarters) of negative economic growth. The bet with Centrebet is PRIOR to 31st DECEMBER 2009. So you need to survive 5 periods (december 08, mar 09, jun 09, sep 09 and dec 09).

I think the $5.50 to avoid it is super value.
