VH MEETINGS.
Saturday a comittee member informed me that
there will be 4 meetings scheduled for VH later this year.
The first meeting is DEC 4 the last in JAN 07.
There is 4 meetings in total, 2 tab and 2 non tab meetings.
There will be family orientated facilities.
Bookmakers will be asked to attend.
Admission ????.
Does anyone have any constructive views as to how these
proposed meetings will pan out.
I personally will venture out there as I love these meetings.

these meetings are brilliant but after spending $30 in petrol ,they then want me to pay $5-$10 to get in and $3 for a book,$10 for lunch. It will cost me $50 even before i have a bet.god knows what they will charge me for a beer.think i will just buy a carton and have a bet from home

i knew of two meetings at victor but that may've been the two tab meetings, & i'll add they've been going to have a meeting at the new track for the last 6 or 7 years & it hasn't eventuated. weren't they the days sundays at victor it was always a tiring w/end it was trotts sat then lennies stayed for staffies had about 5 hours sleep then off to victor, occasionally i left to go to victor from someone else's house (when i was lucky)

Funny this should come up, I drove past "Morgan Park" this afternoon! It got me thinking, about how the Trotting club sold(?)/vacated prime land they were on, & were able to set up nicely with the $'s from the sale/compensation.
They should've built a multi-purpose track- one with a loam/grass dog track inside. In these days of "rationalisation", & dwindling crowds/profits/prizemoney, this would've been a more sensible approach- even if the Strathalbyn club "moved" to the new track, thus selling their Strathalbyn set up (if they owned it). Qute possible a golden opportunity lost. I really think the Trotting & Greyhound clubs need to work together, for both to survive...

BAYMAN those were the days:
When you were a boy and frequented Lennies Tavern.
If i was a bookie framing a market on your chances.
of getting lucky[re: leaving someone else's house to go to VH]
I would have:
BAYMAN 1-05 to get lucky!!!!!!!
8-00 to sleep at home.
No doubt the BAY DISCO was your track and distance as well.
Agree with P/ROOSTERS dogs/trots almalgamations at VH
Also agree with PANTHERS thoughts on the value of the $$$$$$
BUT its a great day...I will be there.
