Been backing up well and competes well in any race
Yet to win over 600m but been placed a few times
Trained by young and talented Nathan Rooney
Owned by 3 cricketers
Kelly + Benton have played for SA in the SS
Tanner played at Woodville with them
These 3 guys made the news a little while ago for saving some kids from drowning
Drawn OK
PLACE [need $1-40 or better]

R4-6 DANGER RHODE
A Mallyblackybooker from last weeks Gawler meeting
Enourmous run on a frontrunning bias track

But given very good fortune could run a place at big odds
VERY VERY SmalL PLACE BET [need about $4-50 or better]

apparently up in QLD members voted against the introduction of the finish on lure.

when the introduced it to the Ipswich track earlier in the year a number of leading trainers had nothing but praise for it.

from: http://www.australianracinggreyhound.com

The finish-on lure system increases a greyhounds capacity to chase to its fullest by providing a reward system whereby the greyhound is allowed to catch the lure after the race. The current catching pen system involves whisking the lure away and making the dogs run full throttle in to often dangerous containment areas with no reward for their efforts.

Good refernce M80s
Appears the lure may assist suspect dogs in chasing more keenly
By catching the lure after the race finishes may assist the dogs chasing tempraments[next runs] ?
Appears to be a reasonable experiment
But as MT has pointed out treat races with due care until we establish a pattern
Was used in the last week
I suggest did not affect the form those days
BUT
May affect form when those dogs have their next starts
So the GRSA should perhaps trial this for a month
I have heard its being trialled for a week [not long enough to establish a pattern]

Was used last Wednesday Angle park day meeting
Other meetings ?
Reckon Gawler will be first one Tuesday
Likely not to make any diff to form Tuesdays meeting, but will next Gawler meeting as SOME dogs might be keener

The Tuesday Gawler preview is delayed
Lotsa scratchings AGAIN
5 of the dogs that are scratched from the meeting are
R3-4 JESTER BALE
R8-4 LE GRAND BALE
R9-6 BRAZILLIAN
R9-7 TARA BALE
R10-5 BATTISON BALE

11 scratchings from the original 1-8 boxes
Why did I pick on the above 5
THEY WERE ALL RESERVES AT ANGLE PARK LAST NIGHT THAT GOTTA RUN
That makes em automatic scratchings today as no dogs are allowed to back up twice in SA within 24 hours [unless they are are in special heats or finals of events?]

Anyway back to the drawing board for me whilst I restudy the races with scratchings
Preview hopefully b4 the first race....

GAWLER PREVIEW

2 Heats of the Gawler Breeders heats today
Another good innovation by GRSA
There are more of these races , and this can only stimulate the Breeding Industry

Good luck for MatteeG + Brads syndicate dog with R3-1 ELLE ADOIS has an EW hope in an open race

PREVIEW [SMORGASBOARD TODAY]

R1-2 RISK IT
will be in the finish, is the best dog, but 7 is the wild card
would not back this dog as will be too short
EXOTICS

R5 QUINELLA 6/8
first heat of the Breeders
6 GOLD is music to my ears a good $$$ dog for me[John Stewart, Spandau Ballett harmony]
8 MOONLIGHT MISS a danger

R6 QUINELLA 1/23
1 MANHATTAN ANGEL gunna be too short to back, will lead and take off
2 KIMBERLEY JINX + 3 EMERLEY WHO in a sMALl field will make ground and might blouse the MALPET, which is gunna be way too short to back

R7-1 TREAD LIGHTLY
First look at Gawler
BUT astute trainer Troy Murray has a very good dog
Im expectly 5 to lead
Given any luck early I would expect TL to whoosh past them in the straight
WIN

R7-2 LONG GULLY KIM
dead set fencer and will run on, red is the logical top pick, but this dog can be placed
PLACE

R8-1 LONG POINT
Was this dog named after the field settings for my square drives when I played cricket ?
Just needs to hold ground early and will run on well
The 6 DEEP PRINCE might be hard to beat as well
LP is well drawn and be ther at the finish
EW

R9-2 LONG GULLY BLUE
Best chances appear 1-2-5 in this
LGB has no early speed, but a good late railer
Be ther when it counts
PLACE

R10-1 SAND HOPPER
no wins in 5 runs at Gawler
will be miles away early
given some scrimmages up front, might get close enough to pounce on these
WIN + PLACE
RATIO 1 WIN 3 PLACES

Thats races 5678910 we have selections today

DUTCHYS QUADDIE
VIC/NSW TAB
Skinny cheap one in order
6-1-1-1
8-1-1-1

ANGLE PARK
Could only find one dog for TOMorrow
But there are 2 obstacles

R7-2 AMBERS ACE
rails well and be in the finish
EW + OR EXOTICS

BUT 2 factors
1
R7-4 is an unknown from Victoria KIRRIBILLI SHAK
AND ?????
and I dont like betting in races with the twilight zone factor
2
There is only 8 dogs nominated for the race [no reserves]
AND
the way things are going of late I would say No Third Dividend after the inevitable scratchings
