How can this happen.....

I have had $100 all up Robert Thompson into Lovelock-Wiggins and $100 and Robert Thompson into Jeff Penza in the two JC's today. $200 outlay

Thompson has saluted at $1.90 with ease and I had the other two going at $8 which I thought was overs.

3 minutes before the last race they abandon the last race and call off the JC when Lovelock-Wiggins is on 7pts and could only be beat by Angland on 6pts. Lovelock is on a 10-1 pop and Ang is on a 26-1 pop in the last.

FFS. I was of the understanding if 5 races were conducted the JC stood. Can someone find out coz this has pissed me off and cost me big time......

but it is hard to see how they can refund money on the other 6 jockeys who couldn't win.

Just got off the phone and the first b$#ch that answered said "you cant call here without an account number" .... I put her in her place and told her to get me her boss ASAP. 5 minutes later this bird comes on and tells me that the jockey has to be 4 points in front for a result to be paid...... I said 'so all the losers get a refund' and she said 'yes'

Im sure the fineprint would vindicate thier decision
Its thier rules, refundees get a refund [good luck]
AG gets a refund and no winnings [bad luck]

Having said all that I cant understand outcome
It should be in the TABS best interest to have an outcome and collect thier commissions
By refunding all punters they make no commissions

I do however think AG has got the worst of the outcome in this instance
With one race to be conluded surely a dividend gets paid on who is in front by the last race

If not, you could claim that the conditions aren't specified anywhere and have a legal leg to stand on.

a rule for quaddies trebles etc have a 'special dividened' declared so why shouldn't it be the same in this instance ?


the one & only time i had a jc i backed d.oliver at caulfield because 'the experts' said the $2.80 was a GIFT so i took it he ran 2nd in the first & went home crook (not as crook as i was) so in hindsight shouldn't i have got a refund seeing ag does instead of collecting ?

about 5 years ago they paid out after 5 races the remaing races were called off due to weather sounds to me they change the rules to suit themselfs i wont even bet with them unless they make error the jock i was on had 3 more rides leader had none my jock was 2 pts behind at that time i feel your pain.

what pisses me off is that they did payout after 5 races once. And yet now they only pay out after that if the leader has an unasailable lead. I cannot find it anywhere in the conditions on the site and I ask you to have a look to see if I have missed it.

What if Angland didnt have a ride in the last? would they have still paid me?

I think I might go to my mate at the paper and get him to do a story on it. good idea bayman

I couldnt find their rules of their site, yet every other bookie they are easy to find....maybe they deliberately dont put them on there? Surely it wouldnt be hard to have them available to the public....

When you are placing a bet you are effectively entering into a contract with them therefore the rules and terms and conditions should be readily available
