SHORT RACES
There are expressions of interest about the possibilty of running short distance racing at Gawler
Dog industry people can submit opinions to GRSA on whether they would like short races or not
There is chatter about 326m races at Gawler
Discussions are about 400m races as well
GOOD
Just good for trainers with young dogs who can build up a dog towards 500 m+ races
Also good for dogs who struggle to run out 500m+ races
In general more flexibilty for owners/trainers with the diversity of distances
Lets face it if you have a weakish dog there is limited prizemonies about for short course dogs in SA
Strath + Pirie have shorter races but little $$$ about TO WIN
BAD
In my opinion dreadful races to punt on
Swoopers are virtually non existant in 400m or less races
They are boring to watch , as wherever the dogs lob is where they generally finish in these races
Another prob is that dogs mix distances at the tracks that have short races
The form can be topsy turvy
I refuse to bet on them
Port Pirie dogs is a headf..k trying to sort out times and distance hopping
PREFER
Instead of short races there should be more distance [700m+] races
NO GAWLER DOGS
No meeting Tuesday this week
Meeting now at Angle Park
So no GAW preview this week
My form at APK is fair, about square since the new lure
Breaking even is not an option for me, takes up too much time
So will continue the Gawler previews Tuesdays
Im winning there, and as the great John Laws used to say
" When your on a good thing stick to it."

Some exacta punts for a Monday arvo pub session...
@ Shepparton
R2 -1,8/1,3,8 [$4 for 1 Unit] (the 6 will probably start fave, going to leave it out and try and hit some value)
R3 - 1,6,7 [box 'em up $6 for 1 unit]
R4 - 8 should win. 5 is a Rooburger Blackbooker, could sneak into second at nice odds. 10 - GO TO KENYA comes into box three, needs to start well and get out in front of the 8. I'm going to box 'em up.
R6 - 2,4/2,4,8 [$4 for 1 Unit]

I had a sMALl saver on SLEDGE who ran 4th at big odds as well
I wonder if DODGING/WAVING backed his blackbooker

MALS stewards report on the race
BILLS HOPE
Definitely pulled up in its action, might have a slight injury in the muscle area ?
Wait for VicGirls assessment
BUDDY BANDIT
No luck again but then again story of its life
DADDYS MUFFIN
Grubpet did a bad bad thing
From what I saw on the tapes it looked like Johnny Famechon/Lionel Rose/Jeff Fenech/Anthony Mundine ....
Might be the Daddys first indiscretion BUT gotta get time for that ???
Hopefully the connections get it right as it is a talented dog
POINT BEING
731 mtr racing is bloody exciting
We saw the Dodingweavingpet Barelys Image come form the clouds and flasssssssssssssssh home to win
Thats the trouble with 300-400m races from the spectators point of view, they are monotomous to view
THEY ARE CALLED ''''''''FOLLOW THE LEADER RACES'''''''''

working around the 2 being the one to beat with the 1
including the 3 in multiples for a few units and then saving on the field
