13 Aug 2009 10:23 PM - Salisbury Race 4 4: (Place Card) Doggerbank @ 3.00
13 Aug 2009 10:23 PM - Sandown Park Uk Race 3 3: (Place Card) Guilded Warrior @ 712.00
13 Aug 2009 10:23 PM - Sandown Park Uk Race 5 2: (Place Card) Surprise Party @ 1.80
13 Aug 2009 10:23 PM - Salisbury Race 6 1: (Place Card) Polar Annie @ 6.00
Bloody last leg let me down.... Had $5 on for a collect well over $3,500....
Just a query - have you ever seen one in a place card at $712!!! It ran second and paid $4.80 the place.... VicTAB had it picked at third which is why I threw it in...

Give you 4 races, you've gotta pick something to place in each one.... the odds are only added together, not multiplied like an all up....

I was doing place cards but I found they gave little value compared with all up for a place. Place cards they add the prices together where as all ups times the dividends. If you had 4 horses paying $2, place cards give you a dividend of $8 where as an all up bet the dividend is $16. The only thing is the place card the price quoted is what you get, all up is what ever the TAB dividend is. I had an all up on Monday that gave me $27.57 per dollar, place card was only giving me $14.50

not sure you would've got anywhere near the 3500 dividend with my above place card, nothing pays $700 for the place... It only paid $4.80... The all up was i think $1.90x2.40x4.80x1.90 so times that by the $5 investment is only $207...

You would have to think that the $712 was an error rather than the normal sort od dividend.

i would think all ups would be more profitable long term then place cards
