New Bet type for the doggies

It would seem that in the very near future there will be a bet type where you can bet on the Leader of a race.

id assume they are talking about the dog which is first to the winning post the first time around

good initiative and hopefully the bookies dont put up 200% markets

Pretty stupid bet type if u ask me, it's right up there with the Tabs introducing Any 2s.

If this is going to open to all tracks, it creates an interesting situation. As not all First Split leaders are First Split leaders.......

Plus I wonder how they are going to go at Angle Park or Gawler first splits when compared to something like Meadows 600m or even Bendigo 430m.

As you may know Mal. Some first splits are just given out, without any real consideration as they don't hold much bearing.
