Just after some advice if someone has had this happen to them??
Will i get to keep my $$$??
Should i withdraw my $$$??
Last night i was having a few bets and just when i was about to log off Devonport Race 8 was just about to start and I thought id have 1 more bet. I put $5 on the fav and after I put the bet on I see that it still saying market to close in 2mins 30sec, so half way around the fav jumped straight to lead and was looking good so i tried to place another $5 for the win and it let me. So then I thought id wait until they were half way down the straight and see what looked like the winner, sure enough the fav kick away and held on to win by a head. Just b4 they crossed the line i clicked confirm bet of $30 for a win and YEP the market was still open, SO then i had $3 left in the account and 1 min till market closed so i done a trifecta in order 1,2,3 for my last $3 and that also went through. Tried transfering cash over b4 market closed to load up on tri but market closed on me. Waited for it all to clear and sure enough my account is now ca$hed up.

Interesting that it is still there, they're normally not too slow on these things...
I know last week Sportsbet accepted my JC bet after the first race
I'd withdraw the money and hope for the best

Every punters dream....to know the result of a race before the race closes off. Good luck to you growler, they should not be allowed to take the money from you, but I think they will.

I have the following advice for you growler 79,
1. Get the money out asap
2. Dont post this type of stuff until a few weeks have past as why, as obscure it may seem, give them the chance to be alerted.
Always remember they set the rules to suit their needs and generally dont give us too many favours.

Was thinking something similar.... I am not sure, but perhaps these sites look at websites like this and go back and check these things....

Always up to you,if something does ever happen again best to outlay a small amount as if u have plenty on a bet that u know the result it may become obvious to them and will cancel your bet.

great advice G
i'll add i had trifectas & quinellas i suppose about 2 years ago on a south africa meeting where you can get fixed odds on line from a south african company & using those markets to work out some bets to watch & this is similar to what the market in a 5 horse race was
1. 1/10
2. 4/1
3. 9/1
4. 33/1
5. 50/1
now what i did was 1/2,3/2,3. 1/2/3. 1/3/2 to have it added up to get it for $20.00 & the quinella 1/2, 1/3 both for $20
it obviously came in & from memory the corporate paid the quinella @ about $6.00 & the trifecta was almost $46.00.....i left the money in for about 3 days thinking they'll work out the stuff up, i checked their records which had the wrong divs in the system so i withdrew the ca$h, i ended up checking the divs on the nsw tote after to see what the divs were & it was $1.30 for the quinella & the trifecta was about $5.00...........it wasn't sportingbet but i'm not saying who it was

Its ironic but Ive had the wrong dividends and wrong payouts from a few of the Corporate Bookies
Rather than take the $$$ and run, Ive owned up
My philosophy is , If they have given me good service why screw em
Sportingbet, being the named Bookie in this thread is a very generous Bookie
They are currently offering $100 free bet for a $30 new account deposit
They have offered me the opportunity to participate in a multitude of promotions
From those Promos I have benefited financially
Sportingbet had a promo about 2 years ago for several months
They gave me $20 for every Quaddie I got
I have recently made $$$ from the World Cup and The Royal Ascot promos
I have made $$$ from thier daily happy hour specials
Plus plenty of other promos
I was once overcredited a 4 figured sum by a Bookie on a wrong dividend
Did I take it ?
NO
Growler my advice is
Tell Sportingbet about the boo boo
And take advantage of the promos they have, which might end up more than the windfall you have recieved
On the other hand if any Bookie has screwed you in the lead up , then accept the gift

IMHO if they stuff up its their bad luck....
I had one on Monday where they recorded a dog as 4.80 the win 4.80 the place.... it ran 2nd and I was on each way.... BAD LUCK
I also had another one the same day that also ran second - was $2.10 the win and they paid me $3.40 the place... BAD LUCK
These corporate bookies make mega bucks anyway, so I am sure them paying me a little bit more on a couple or races isn't going to send them broke. Same as with growler, I am sure the $200 they paid him out isn't going to send them broke.....

One of my principles in life, is if it isn't mine then I'll never take it ... Anytime I've not been charged for something or been given too much change, I'll bring it to their attention and pay my rightful dues - That's just my outlook and naturally I wouldn't judge anyone for having a different one.
However, when it comes to the bookies, I feel they have so much padding to protect themselves from their own stuff ups, that I don't seem to hold the above philosophy with them .. They can prevent paying us on technicalities at times, so if you can get a buck from them by any legal means, then I say go for it!

EXACTLY!!! Everything in the betting world is so heavily weight to the bookies we should take every chance to get one over them!!

I agree with CP and I also wouldnt rip off anyone including the local birds working in the TAB's because I know they have to make up any shortfall in cash out of their own pocket.
Its only the Corporate Bookies and maybe even the locals that I say "STUFF EM"
