Just read this news story.

Glad Clare and the other Jockey are okay.
They say 'near misses' happen all the time in the same place.
Hopefully the council does something about it before anything worse happens.

Owners will be devistated too I'm sure.

i've often been at that intersection when trackwork is in full swing, both drivers & horse handlers (strappers) have shown a distinct disregard for each other a fair few times that i've witnessed, & i go past almost every weekday morning, most are understanding but not all & that's both sides i'm talking about

amazed this hasnt happened more often, thankfully my horses stables are over Morphett Road therefore they use the traffic lights.

I would have thought considering the $$$ the sport generates for the govt and the council a bridge or tunnel to get the horses (and staff) safely to the track wouldnt be too hard to arrange

shocking incident accident. Pity about lack of foresight in not having satisfactory crossing. An interesting effort by a commercial network covering the story. They covered the rego plate but taxi number was clear to see.
