greyhound preview 17/7/06 + greyhound gossip

Tonights topic is greyhounds being over raced and under cared.

DUTCHY alerted safooty fans that DYNA UTAH R1-7 tonight seems
to be racing every night.
The dog is fronting up for its 6th run in 18 days.
None of us are trainers but we all know this is a big imposition on
the poor greyhound.
Forget the fact its a greyhound and just take into consideration the
well being of the aniMAL.
Lots of people have pet dogs + would be appalled if this went public.
Incidently the dog has had 18 starts at Mangle pk for o wins yet!!!!!!

Did we all see the job vacancy GRSA post i put on this forum?
If they put a GST on the ADMINISTRATIONS annual salaries the
government would be very wealthy.
We have a STEWARD reputed to be earning $120 k a year !!!!!!

##########################################################

MANGLE PK BEST BETS latest odds in brackets...suggest $1 win $5 place all bets.
--------------------------

R8-8 HOWDY DEN BOY{$5] runs on well , put in trifectas or back for a PLACE...............
11-6 COLEMAN BALE[$7] 2nd run this week, but this dog handles hard racing...PLACE....

INTERSTATE INTERESTS
----------------------------

LAU3-3 DELTA STAGE[$3-50] on pace stayer put in quins/exactas.
LAU7-6 LITTLE MARSH {$1-80] most honest dog in hobart...great quin/exacta.
CRA6-4 INFINITE CHARM [$9] slow out runs on tenaciously great PLACE bet.
CRA9-7 WHAT A WORM {$13] handles wide draws, tries hard rough PLACE chance
WPK6-2 MODERN LOVE {$5] likes inside draws, PLACE claims
WPK8-1 RAPHEAL {$3-20] runs on well definite EW claims.
WPK10-8 SLIM SANDY [$6] battles on well has a PLACE chance.

As usual we do not tip favourites too often and the strike rates are lower at the hounds.

The TAB is beting $1-52 Brisbane v Hawthorn this week
Mals bet of the month at those odds............................

BAYMANS computer went haywire last nite so thats why no trots preview by him

good luck all

well after an average thursday evening we butter up again tonight with average animals

1 - 2
2 - 1
3 - 3 was heavily supported last start where it LAW at Gawler
5 has a chance to fill a place and the 8 to run 2nd as thats all it does
4 - 5,8 these two look the best
5 - 3
6 - 2 place only
7 - 7 has best ability, 8 should get cart across and the 3 to be running on at the end
8 - 3
9 - 3,4 these two again should be streeting the rest
10 - 3 to be placed and have something on the 8 if anywhere near the $11 quoted in paper, this dog has been jumping better its last few and could well find a forward position.
11 - hard race box the outside four in multi's 5,6,7,8

spoke to my mate in the industry and he replied
"What a load of crap. They race for two to three years maximum. They're born to run so they should be able to run seven times a week, let alone whinging about two or three times a week".

had a poor night last night...

Agree with your comments 100% Mal....the poor dog is getting slaughtered, lets see how many runs it can get in July and see if anyone can beat it!

I guess the trainers think the more they run the more chance they have of getting a cheque!...very short term view but maybe the industries poor prize money drives this type of action??????

I guess that's why they train greyhounds, & you don't!

Valid point AG they can run 3 times a week.......
BUT can they run as good as a dog who has 1 run a week ?

The best dogs going around are rarely raced 3 times a week
It just seems to be the inferior dogs that cop the over racing.

Today at GAWLER[tuesday] there are several dogs running that
raced at Port Pirie on Sunday..2 days ago !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One particular trainer who has kennels at Murray Bridge took the
dogs to Pirie sunday night , would have driven back to Murray
Bridge and drives them to Gawler today.

I have had hounds in the past, I would not allow an aniMAL to be
subjected to this if I had it my way.

Backyard trainers, backdoor administrations, back to the dark ages.

backyard is correct.... i heard a dog ran around Mangle Park with a three-corner jack in between its toes last night. No names but a prominant trainer who wanted to get the odds up for a sting.... It was a dissapointing fav. last night.
Has anyone got anyother clever ways to slow down a dog... *Name deleted* told me vaseline in the eyes was a good one along with the bucket of water in the face during the week when they jumped out the boxes.
At the marathon programme at HP today I like the DD 2,3,4,5 / 5 for $5. $20 investment. The 5 in the last leg is a monty on times by my sources.

Edit: As Bayman suggested, Trainer should not be named PR

i would delete the trainers name if i were you in your post as while probably true as with giving dogs a kill etc it is unfair to name people that tell you these things in confidence yes tell us but dont name them
