Wasnt the ride of a decent jockey, but Ive seen much worse. Horse overraced and position wise we don't know what instructions he was given by the trainer. With the benefit of hindsight (and not know whether it would suit the horses pattern) could have easily just plonked in the lead on the rail just after the dirt patch - At least then if/when it overraces he could have let it go. Copped a pretty bad check about 50-100m from the line too.
Rode for luck when he probably didn't need to. Just a split second decision, that's the game.
Can't knock the effort of the winner, missed the kick by two to three lengths. It's a blackbooker of mine on a leading effort about eight months back but that was also a stellar job from the back.
