That was poor.
The drop back in distance not ideal but that wasn’t flash.

Don’t hold back.

My tips are based on form and speed maps. I think the best tips are more so insider knowledge.

Super and Cobbers Mate

Kennewell Racing to close their Adelaide operations down by the end of the month citing the Government decision of funding cuts as one of the main factors

Will be the first on many. Nice work Libs!

Think it has more to do with what horses he has left in Adelaide.

Has not had a metropolitan winner in Adelaide for months and has had two SA provincial winners in the last 4.

He moved to Melbourne in August.

His press release this morning states that the cuts are a big factor as he was going to keep the stable open

He did.

The prizemoney cuts ($3 million) are from the three week period of the Adelaide Cup carnival.

I say it is not a factor in his decision to close but he has used the opportunity to put pressure on the Govt.

I agree that he was going to close it anyway, got a parting shot at the government in to help out others in the SA industry, which is fine.

But yeah, he said it shifted his decision forward, so I think that's basically admitting exactly what we're suggesting.

9/7/6 pays $15.60

Cost me $24 to win $7.80. Why do we do this?

Treble a few days back, 5 in the 1st, get 1st 4, 4 in the 2nd, winner/quin, third leg 4 of 9 and not one in the first 4.

There are so many factors to consider about SA Racing
The fields are way down (ie) last Saturday
3 races with 6 horses
3 races with 7 horses
2 races with 8 horses
They can say this will kill racing but we’ve seen the above all year. It’s already dying
Kuntsantonis applying the first and highest betting tax and he deliberately didn’t agree a set amount to racing.
I heard on the racing channel that he said they’d be no worse off but they had to chase him down to get him to pay anything last year
Apparently the government make $9m pa from the tax so cutting $3m is very rich
But, is racing in SA a bit like Holden? Maybe only having provincials is the future 8-[

So as an outsider, I'm not on top of the issue, but it is clear it has upset a few. So what's the background?
The government used to give racing heaps of cash and is now giving them less?
I see the cut has been $3m, is that $3m out of $3m? Or $3m out of say $20m?

Also, how does the consumption tax work? Is that a % of bookie turnover?
Do bookies then pay normal taxes on top of that?

What's the logic behind a consumption tax? Why does racing have it, but not other industries? Or do other industries have an equivalent?
