Only way Brisbane will finish bottom is if Jonathon Brown gets injured. I think Richmond or Eagles.

North Melbourne.

Have some very promising kids through the middle, but look really light on in attack to regularly kick winning scores - will need McKinley to hit the ground running immediately, and his best was at Subiaco. Early injury to McIntosh also leaves them vulnerable in the big man department apart from Goldstein and Petrie. Defence is working well, but will be under siege a fair bit this year.

Brodlach, when was the last time Brown played a full season? Not taking the pi$$, genuine question.

Your right Gadj, he normally only plays two thirds of the season but I think that 5 wins is enough to avoid the wooden spoon and he is such a brilliant player that they will get at least 5 wins.

2007 Roos were $2-00 for the Spoon and ended up one win from the Grannie, Ill give anyone $20 if they want to back the Roos for the spoon.

Im hoping Port get out to double figures after winning in Rnd 1 and Ill be on...

Agreed, I've had a huge dip at them into the Wests Tigers to make the top 4 in the NRL.

Problem is now that he hasn't got 'foil's' in Bradshaw or Fev, so teams can double and triple team him. I don't think he'll play the same role as he has previously. Brisbane will be hoping Cornelius comes along quickly, maybe along with a resting ruckman to take some of the heat off of JB.

Reckon she'll be tight at the bottom and you could make a case for every club to avoid the spoon .. Wouldn't surprise me if the position was decided by %age this year.

Mitch Clark will be that foil this year. He has stated he enjoys being up forward more than the ruck, this will be his chance. He will only ruck a bit IMO.

I think Dutchy's odds for North Melbourne are still unders. NM and Richmond are both no chance to win the spoon IMO.

West Coast, Brisbane are the front runners. Dont rule out Port, Gold Coast or Essendon

Dutchy, how are Port going to win in round 1 ??????

If you want to back them for the spoon I would suggest you get on before Collingwood get hold of them in the first round. ;) ;)

I think the Gold Coast will win 0 games away and with luck 4 at home meaning they are rightful fav's for the spoon.

Port @ $6.00 are farcical odds. Should be at least $21.
Only 3 chances for the Spoon, West Coast, Brisbane & the Gold Coast as the obvious favourite.

Apologies I was thinking the WCE game was the season opener, buts it's their first home game not Rnd 1. I think they are too short at the moment but would like to secure double figure odds sometime early in the season.

OK Port fans tell me why they won't be bottom 4 this year?

I've had a bet with a mate for a Donny that Gold Coast won't win more than 6 games, can't believe he thinks they are finals hopes
