Huge bets (wins and losses) of 2011

Postby OnSong » Wed May 25, 2011 1:46 pm

We all hear about astronomical bets on the footy or the punt.
No great need to name names, but I find it interesting reading about people who drop massive amounts on the punt. Don't know why.
I heard someone has $1 million on Collingwood at $1.06 on the weekend?

Any other biggies lately you've heard of?

Should correct that rumour after some brief research:

http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/collingwood-skins-bookies-with-come-from-behind-win-against-adelaide/story-e6frf9jf-1226060632351

At sportsbet.com.au there were bets of $200,000 and $100,000 at $1.06 straight out on the Pies. Hell of a way to win $12,000 and $6000 large.

A good mate of mine had a multi going recently and had landed all the legs bar one, which was for Manchester United to win the Premier League. Had a nervous few weeks (I told him it was never in doubt  ) before netting over three grand.

I did read about an Adelaide bloke netting $20,000 for a two leg multi with PA/PA/PA/GC into another upset, can't remember which one though?

I remember this being put on Fox sports show After The bounce.

IT was $10 at $2830 (or there abouts).

STK/STK/BRIS/STK into PP/PP/PP/GC

It was involving the st kilda v brissy game (from memory thats how the quarter leaders ended up). Huge profit.

Someone had $100 on WCE to win 100+ against the bullies on the weekend

A work mate of mine with a few of his mates lost 6k on Richmond on Saturday night. I think there was 6 of them and they chucked in $100 each at the start of the year. Funny part is that he is a Power fan and would have done is dough last week too if his mate with the betting account woke up in time last Sunday to put on Collingwood/Collingwood

Nice win by a punter today. Turned $50 into $85,000 after picking 4 winners at Eagle Farm

Had a mate a couple weeks ago who has had his fair share of huge losses, have a 200 dollar all up in qld on derby day and got it and collected 200,000. Good effort. Went to TAB and wanted to put another bet on in Adelaide from his winnings but they wouldn't let him put the 20,000 on out of his winnings he was owed. And the horse he was going to back got up at 5/1.
