Mate has a club he runs on PPE with about 20 members, problem is none of us can ever play at the same time and we end up with SNG’s of 5-9 runners. He’s always trying to expand the club so if anyone is interested let me know and I’ll shoot you the details. Cheers, JK

I prefer to stick to live games but if you join the Adelaide Poker facebook group you'll find plenty of people looking for online games.

I don't understand the reasoning - i'm allowed to dump whatever money i like into betting apps, or go to the pokies etc but cant play poker online.

It's dumb.

Its to do with the 'inplay' nature of the betting.

You can bet on your apps before the game starts, but have to ring up to bet inplay.
This was to make it harder for losing punters to try and chase losses mid-game.

Poker has betting on every 'street' so is considered in play and therefore can't be done over the internet in australia.

Pokies you don't do over the internet, and you also bet before the event (hit spin and then the result is determined, you can change or edit your bet mid-spin).

Not saying any of it makes it right, but that's the 'justification', if you can call it that.

It also got caught up in the online casino's that you used to be able to access from offshore operations, gov't banned them and online poker got included.
