Clear race between 2,3.
#3 will begin well and not many runners in this race want the rail, so will get room and be too strong in the finish. Only obstacle in this race is not getting checked by the 2 early.
#2 pings the lids and wants to go wide . Untried this T/D so may be under pressure in final 50m as 300m times aren't always the flashest.
#1 get all favours in the race, will want to drift middle of track during the race but should get all the breaks and run to best ability.
#5 can follow the 3 early as will get cover as 6,7,8 want wide. Will be the big improver this race. Hard to see others running the time to beat 2,3.

Formline suggests each runner should get clear racing room. So based on best recent ability.

6,7,8 are the early leaders in the race, 1,2,3,4 are all slower out who like room and wind up late. It is a race of two halves really as those who ping will fade *7 will fade badly. And depends how much room the strong chasers get to run these down.
On recent form the 8 two runs at WGL are enough to beat this field and has raced well enough here prior to that. Looks likes gets all the breaks. But still not 100% confident will win easily.

Only value in the race looks to be the 4. Who will get room to move wide early and run home strong.

Always tricky races at Sale. #2,5 stand good chance to lead as 3,4 slower out and 1 will want to go wide at the bend at start so won't begin to best ability and will cause a gap to appear as some carnage behind. 7 will move across to rails but not get there leaving 8 out wide and a cart acrossm needs to clear the 7 at bend to do best.
4 is in a tricky spot, but closer to the rail and runs strongly here.
But 2should lead and be too quick for them.

What a tricky race, 1,2,3 all like wide, 4 is slow, 5 begins well and wants to move to the rails, 6 needs the rails, 7 needs to lead, 8 likes it wide.

If 5 gets clear of the 3,4 early then its all over in my mind, the issue will be runners squeezing up early and at the bend. 4 will be rocketing home on the rails underneath the wide runners. 1 can run the time needed to win, just out of a bit of form lately.

The only issue for the 8 is the first 5 steps as 7 wants to go wide and 8 will want the rails. This is what can stop the 8, otherwise has too much pace against this field. 7 is suited outwide and one of the stronger runners in ideal draw. 3 will get good cover early as 2 can lead and punch a hole early as 1 is only steady away. #3 also likes to race outside runners so again suited.

Race 6 at ballarat was messy!
