i've got sky on watching ararat & redcliffe & low & behold this dog called inner west just won at w'bool it also won at horsham last night so i looked up its previous start before last night was 5/9/2006 so in 8 days its had 3 runs & won two races, so whats this they need a full weeks rest etc etc ? junior davies tells me that 2 or 3 runs a week wont affect them unless its in very hot conditions so after this dog won do you think you've gone a bit overboard ?

Mr. BIRDBRAINBALOONBELLYMAN

When a trainer does it in Victoria/NSW/QLD/WA race a dog 3 times
in one week then its mostly ok, because the trainers in those states
know thier dogs capabilities.
There are too many trainers in this state who race a massive majority
of thier dogs 3 times a week[how can every dog do it at full capacity?]
A few of those dogs can handle it, but most of them are incapacitated
through this stupidity.

Today at Angle Park there was a dozen or so good dogs all running
in the OAKS heats from Victoria....EVERY ONE OF THOSE DOGS HAS
RACED ONCE A WEEK and the winners ran fast times.

When I ask the trainers that thrash thier dogs they invariably say
" Oh my dog can handle it......."
When I ask the trainers that race dogs weekly they will say this about trainers
who thrash thier dogs 3 times a week:
" They are bad trainers."

BAYMAN you have isolated a rarish occurence that eventuated in Victoria tonight.

SA dog trainers are the laughung stock in the eyes of interstate trainers.

One idiot pulled me up one night and told me that in 5 races run that nite that
the winning dogs had raced 3 times a week.
I sorted out the idiot by telling him in those 5 races 27 of the 40 dogs in those races
had raced 3 times that week !

Good try BAYMAN, i cant beat you at the trots on this, but dogs is my domain.
No doubt your stablemate Punky will agree with you !

Mal,
Perhaps you can confine your trolling to other parts of the forum? (Ie away from the Gambling Room)
As stated, we are all here to gain advantage over totes/bookies, perhaps we can regain focus on that.

BAYMAN was obviously baiting MT79 so I posted on behalf of MT79 as he
would be asleep now.

Mal, we discussed the reason why dogs are raced 3 times a week here- financial reasons. The trainer in Vic only needs to race there dog once a week, as prize money is at sufficient levels. Sadly, this is not the case in SA.
PS $5 for a Bacon & Egg sandwich (not even cooked as ordered), wtf?

Yeah I know BAYMAN.
I have a passion with my dogs, its being ruined by overzealous trainers, lack
of industry productivity, low prizemoney and a suspect TAB in this state.
As you know I have from a punting view endured frustration at trainers over racing
dogs which affects form.
racing dogs 3 times a week, punters dont know if the dog is fit
the trainers only know if the dogs are fit
some trainers dont know if the dogs are fit.

The trotting trainers who do it, know what they are doing, i have asked
a few smart people in the industry and the trots people do it ok [as you told me].
the smart people i ask at the dogs agree with mt79 and me.

BAYMAN

you found a dog who had that had 3 runs in 8 days and won twice, well me MAL at MANGLE PARK yesterday morning discussed this with a very knowledgable gentlemen who told us that some dogs will be able to run 3 times a week if they are trained to do it, but they cant do it consistently, which is what trainers here do to there dogs.

as MAL has stated you look at the open graded dogs and they race once a week here, interstate they race their dogs once a week and those dogs are grade 5 dogs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you just have to look at yesterdays resultls, the interstate visitors came over and dominated and ran VERY QUICK times.

why do interstate trainers race their dogs once a week???? and these are grade 5 ones as well as the open graded ones??????

The PRIZEMONEY is superior.

the PRIZEMONEY is superior but if you have a dog here and look after it, it can get through the grades to the better races and prizemoney.

wouldnt you rather have a dog race once a week and pick up a few hundred rather then race it twice a week and get nothing

A new ruling starting 1/11/06 from a stewards correspondence.

A greyhound shall not be eligible to compete on consecutive days in
South Australia with the exeption of greyhounds that qualify for Semi
Finals, Finals and two day coursing meetings.

This was brought about due to a AniMAL welfare issue
The ruling is subject to aproval and will be effective as of 1/11/06

MALS VERDICT
-----------------

This is to stop trainers who nominate dogs twice in two days ?
MT79 spoke to a trainer on a Wednesday morning once about a dog
who raced at Gawler the previous day and was fronting up 24 hours later.
The trainer had a choice , race the dog half fit[he told us it was sore]
Or scratch the dog and incur a 14 day suspension and a fine.
He ran the dog, punters on the TAB were robbed, the dog ran LAST!

Racing dogs like that could only happen in this state.

wE HAVE A DOG TONITE WHICH HAS RACED NON STOP FOR ABOUT 2 MONTHS
RACING 3 TIMES A WEEK, CALLED dyna utah , When was the last time this dog ran a place ?

the last time DYNA UTAH ran a place is probably when it WON at big odds, it must be around 15 starts ago but i think it was in late july/august

mal and MT79 we need to get all this info together and use our betfair account.... it wont pay much but all theses dogs that cant win could slowly make us a profit....... backing them would add up after a while...
