GENISTA ROAD
-----------------

The 15,000 purchase unfortunately broke a hock in the
Strathalbyn Cup and will be out of action for about 4 months.

OAKS FINAL
--------------

The best dog in Australia will be on parade from box 8 , Mals
favourite sprinter the sensational BETTYS ANGEL ran a sizzling
29-17 in the heat, I believe that might be the 2nd fastest time
recorded at Wangle Pk. Bettys daddy was the incomparable BRETT LEE
who holds the track record 28-88.
Such is the plight in SA that there are 7 Victorians and Western Australian
dog in thr final , meaning $30,125 will leave the states coffers.

The first Oaks in 1972 was won by KEYWAY.
I still vividly remember the brilliant JUST BIDDY winning in 1975 in 30-79
from memory JB held the track record at 30-40 at one stage, beating the
existing record of 30-64 held by my favourite all time dog BRISTOL SUE.
COLLIS QUEEN won in1979 trained by Frank Tanner[ related to the Norwood footballers]
1987 KINKY KATIE was another pet of mine
1991 the brilliant TRUE TO DO won the oaks
The last few years the oaks has been dominated by Victorian dogs including
PETITE VERDOT 2003 in 29-47[the fastest oaks time ever]
The sensational LUKEAMY won the 2004 title in a fast 29-53
Last years winner was the terrific QLD dog TIARTA in 29-85
This year 2006 will it be the amazing BETTYS ANGEL ?

Spot on dutchy...didnt need that interference out the box then on the bend...must admit im not a huge follower of the dogs but sat down tonight and watched the oaks, purely coz of mals promotional work...couldnt help but get p@#ed off with the caller from dapto dribbling utter crap whilst the oaks field were moving onto the track, just didnt give brendan yates must time to give us any info prior to the race. maybe it was just me...keep up the good work mal and co. at least you got more 1 bloke to watch tonight.

Proud and Free norMALly starts favourite at Angle pk, my only
defence is that I did stipulate to lay if FAVOURITE.
It paid nearly $8 so it was not wise to lay it on betfair.

Had an awful night with my selections, my apologies.
The champ BETTYS ANGEL got clobbered and Dutchy was spot on
saying it was a lay.

I ventured down to the Settlers hotel tonight but didnt stay long
as there were some rather shady characters drinking there!!!!!!

$94 :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P trifecta.

Im still in shock not getting my treble on wednesday
it paid $2567...MT79 is still pissing himself laughing.
Alas I can watch the 1984 SANFL Grand Final to rekindle
my spirits.
If the world is still descending I can cheer up by rereading
the MAG80 jokes in the Best Jokes forum.

woops, im hoping most of you would have been smart enough not to worry about laying it when it was those odds.

i sincerely apologise for the disgraceful tip about PROUD AND FREE not winning. i havent seen the race so i dont know what happened. on its previous efforts on a wednesday meeting in a grade 5 event which are significantly weaker then last nights fields it has struggled to run a place and sometimes it looks as if it doesnt chase.

i may have to start working again

no dramas MT79, just having a dig - I put it in my treble which got up so I was happy, I usually like Gawler dogs that draw wide at Angle - its a system Ive used with success over the years....goos Gawler dogs usuallly dont like the inside boxes but grow another leg with a bit of room out wide

DUTCHY

you can keep booting me while im down, i dont mind it, i guess i deserve it really.

i may have even backed the dog at those odds, but ive been sucked into it before in weak races at angle park.

Proud and Free certainly does go well from the wide boxes at GAWLER.

NOW that its broken though at headquarters it may go on with it through the grades.

PROUD AND FREE led all the way.
