Best and Worst TAB Agencies

Howdy folks,

Thought this may be a contentious one, but ol' Perce has had some varying experiences of late, and curious to hear the thoughts of some other punters. Will exclude PubTabs from this one, as it is often staffed by inexperienced people.

For the best around, I thoroughly recommend:
- Glenelg South (make an outstanding effort to make EVERYONE feel welcome)
- Mitchell Park, Marion Road (High in the best. Top service, very prompt and very friendly)
- Hindley St (much better when the male is not working there, as the females excel in providing great customer service, and have other incentives to keep you coming back)

Some of the brickbats:

- Ashford (South Rd): the lady here needs serious lessons in why she is there. Spent a few minutes, prior to a Rosehill Sat race, writing out her own betting tickets and exchanging tips with another punter, before being borderline rude when I had a query about a Multi. Made it very clear that serving me was not any sort of priority.

- Grote St. One thing I don't enjoy about this agency is the two staff spend a lot of time looking after just one customer (gent who leaves his dog outside). Have seen punters miss races, through the older woman talking to this customer, and not leaving her conversation no matter what. Two punters got caught on the same race the other day, they had errors on their ticket with time to get both tickets out, but would NOT leave her conversation. Both punters were disgruntled and rightly so, but her attitude was a shrug, and straight back to her talk.

- Daw Park: The service generally is reasonable, but the hygiene of a couple of clients is poor. Ol' Perce doesnt' enjoy watching a race with someone sniffing loudly and swallowing the contents loudly. Any time have been in there, this gent is there, and very, very offputting behaviour.

Over to you, folks!!

I work about 50m from the Pirie St/Gawler Place TAB and I like it there. Gets busy, but the woman there is always helpful and nice.
That's probably the only one I've been to, besides Modbury once or twice.

GLENELG SOUTH is quite good, used to be a regular of mine but now punt more on the NET. loved the nibbles that are out!!!!!!

WARRADALE also provide really good service.

CHRISTIES BEACH - there was an old woman in there who just acted like she never wanted to be there, she needed to go to a customer service school - thank god she got replaced by a fair piece!!!!!!!!

I understand that PUBTABS were excluded which is fair enough, but what about on-course.

this morning at FU**EDANGLE PARK the first race was put back 10 minutes because MAL was running late, no really because a superviser was running late and the superviser was the only person with the key to get into the main control area!!!!!!!!!!

so the question has to be asked why doesnt the club have one of these keys for emergency situations like today. I mean things could have been worse the supervisor may have been involved in an accident or anything that would have stopped her attendance. In that case would the meeting just go ahead without any ON COURSE TOTE??????

Have to say the Modbury and Pirie st / Gawler Place tabs are the ones I go to most (but do most betting at home on the computer) and they are great there.. have had nothing but bad experiences when coming home from Morphetville along Tapleys Hill Road, just before old Port Road - find them rude and just unaccomodating.

Must say - Salisbury is good.. about 8 weeks ago, went in to put my footy multi on and put it on wrong, I went to cancel it 3 mins later and couldn't.. the lady behind the counter rung up head office and abused them for me.. was quite funny....
