The SAGRC runs a programme called GAP which is the greyhound adoption plan.

WOLF BLACK what a dog, one of the fastest beginners ever
to grace the Mangle Park circuit.

You got no hope of getting DYNA UTAH, it is a required dog at stud.

Yeah, he's still got a bit of attitude MAL.... he won around $40,000 for his owners... which were country people, the breeder wanted him back but died of cancer.....which was big money 10 years ago for a dog.... think his biggest win was a Horsham Cup or something like that....

Black Dog, whelped April '94.
Unfashionably bred, by Bulgana (Tangairn x Sydney Gem) out of Braw Lass (Braw Laddie x Honey Roska)
(litter sister "Kate's Chorus" looked the goods for a while- it too was over-raced)

Wolf Black was trained by Blair Cross, & raced in '95/'96 (or thereabouts).
Was known for his early speed (not in the same league as Top Honcho- just ask Donald, MT79 & Mal), just as Blair was known for making his dogs giddy, by sending them around week after week. When Wolf Black broke down (hock from memory), he came back nowhere near his best & was quite sad to see the former champ be flogged for minor prize money.
Iirc, he wasn't known for his good box manners early in his career, he used to fly home- then one day, he started jumping like Top Honcho (Top Honcho held the 1st sectional record @ either 4:27 or 4:28)
The owner's name, I reckon, was John Cunningham? (as in Cunningham's Warehouse)

Terry McAullife on TAB Radio (after Top Honcho won his maiden) "Top Honcho is trained by Geoff Wells, from Woodchester (pause) not exactly sure where that is...!"
Nb Woodchester is somewhere around Strathalbyn.

Yes Bayman, whenever I brought up Top Honcho, Mal would go "duh?" ](*,) (sorry Mal)
Thank god someone else remembers the dog (& Geoff)- was it the same Geoff who led the Westies Cheer Squad?
Also Bayman, when Mal introduced me to Donald at the track recently, I looked at Mal & said- & you don't know Geoff???? :-k

I won't sledge Mal anymore ('till next time!)
