my mate at the sadvertiser says there will be an interesting story about VH track in the paper Sat..... is an interesting read.....biggest track in SA 1000m circumference...he reckons the first meet could attract 2 - 4000 people..... boxing day meet could be bigger......... how well will it get supported do you think bayman??? might get a few there for the first few meets.... Im a bit dubious about it.... worth a try tho as the industry is nearly dead.... as Pirie is stuffed!!!!Whyalla has closed and PA has cut back its meets.....

in the 'old days' there used to be heaps of people at the old track as all the holiday makers would turn up, which some will still turn up but i fear not as many as before as there was a caravan park basically next to the track & they just strolled down to watch but where the track is now apart from that fauna park there is not much around

as for pa they race at pp anyway

as for the crowd i'll be down there early to avoid traffic & to get a park, as it'll be the novelty factor & i think there could be even more than you suggest, so i'll go down in the morning take little bayman on the tram to granite island, some rides one of the pubs for lunch & then to the track

but are you going ag ?

the last time i saw it, it had weeds coming up through the track but that was a long while ago (3 or 4 years ago) obviously they've fixed that problem

they've had about 10 years or so to get the track in good order. i do remember hearing at the time it was being built that its facilities were going to be better then Globe Derby's.

but in 10 yrs of nothing who knows what the facilities have rusted out too!!!!!!

Strath trotts, 1963 I reckon. Got my uncle to have 2/6 each way of my hard earned on a 33-1 chance Fine Time. Although he scoffed LOuDLY, placed the bet and it got home by a length.

Welcome to the punt youngster?
